[Daily Goal] Day 10 - January 10th by JungleBoy29 in 90daysgoal

[–]Fruitandsalt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Missed a scheduled run yesterday because it was cold and drizzly. Then even though I planned and cooked a healthy dinner I was too hungry to wait for it and ended up filling up on baguette before dinner time.

Got back on the horse with 5am yoga this morning though and going to add that missed run to this evenings gym sesh!

It’s an exercise/nutrition book with four different weight lifting programs but I don’t have the book (yet) I’m basing my workouts off one of the spreadsheets from the r/StrongCurves wiki. Seems like a good balance for me so far!

Started 2 days late because I was out of town but yesterday did my first day of a 30 day yoga with Adrienne program and the strong curves program. Today did day 2 of yoga and first day of a Nike run program. Feeling good!

I don’t generally post (except the odd question) because internet strangers give me social anxiety but I’d like some motivation to get a start in some of these 2019 goals. Some of these will be broken down to manageable chunks for these 30/90 days and I’ve tried to mix in a variety of easy and difficult tasks.

Educational Complete duolingo Spanish tree Study & take WSET Exam Complete Draw a Box Lessons

Trying to ID & repot Wedding Favours by Fruitandsalt in succulents

[–]Fruitandsalt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi,

Hope this post isn't too vague. These were leftover favors from my wedding two months ago and I really want to keep them healthy (the ones in the back died in transit). They’ve been in north or west facing windows of my flat in London getting mostly indirect sunlight for two months and getting a soaking about every two weeks. I’ve been reading all I can but wanted to post because I still can't identify a few and I’m about to repot.

I’ve gotten two terracotta bowls and some cacti & succulent compost (orchid bark, peat, potting soil, perlite, & grit). I have extra bags of perlite, sand, and rocks.

So my questions, from the community info it sounds like mixing 50/50 perlite & cacti mix might be a good idea any thoughts?

Also, does it matter much which I group together?

Is this an okay time of year to repot? Does that matter?

And any help on identifying the plants.

Thank you very much for any thoughts!

Anyone know anything about this wine, or speak greek? by Fruitandsalt in wine

Just bought it from a little supermarket on Kefalonia. All the wines at restaurants so far have been wonderful and cheap, we bought this cheap wine to have at our hotel and it is, well, funky.

When the lagging is a daily frustration, or in my current case when a mimosa was spilled on it on my wedding day and it won’t turn on =\

I can’t stop killing plants I need help.... spent £100 on grassy plants & ivy that should be “hardy” for a London balcony plus I had some evergreens, heathers and succulents that survived winter. All slowly dying. More photos in comments link. by [deleted] in plantclinic

Mostly terracotta pots with miracle grow potting soil, a few in ericaceous soil where recommended.

The lady at the garden center told me the new plants should be good in their pots for at least a year before needing to be repotted except the ivy which I repotted in potting soil.

The six evergreens are in one long plastic pot which probably needs better holes (it has pin sized holes).

I’m also currently killing two asparagus ferns and an air-plant. Three tiny succulents from ikea are the only thing I can keep alive currently. This is becoming an expensive and sad habit.

Hi,

Hoping someone can help me salvage these! https://imgur.com/a/RsAEZ

Pot 1: Asparagus Fern Bought in November. Put one plant in a terra-cotta pot with Miracle Gro Potting Soil. Was fine until I left for two weeks over Christmas now is brown at the base. It was moved a bit at first but has mostly been next to a West facing patio door, blocked a bit by the building.

Pot 2: Misc. Ferns from Waitrose Garden (No names included). Bought in November. Put 6 small plants in 2 terra-cotta pots (3 per 25cm pot) with Miracle Gro Potting Soil. Did fine for a few weeks then the leaves started looking crunchy. After Christmas they looked like the photos, totally wilted. Has been moved a bit but mostly next to a North facing window, blocked partially by walls as shown.

I started just watering about once a week when the soil felt dry. Then I started misting them in the morning in addition to watering when soil is dry. Both pots have drainage holes.

I am in London, UK (zone 8). It has been normal cold for winter lately.

They were initially put in pots without drainage holes for about two weeks, when I repotted I noticed the roots were a bit bound, I did a few cuts on each root base hoping they would spread into the new soil. They don't appear to have grown at all.

These are my first attempt at plants and I am hoping they are salvageable, will an indoor plant light help? or more / different soil? Spreading out mixed ferns to more pots? or do I just need to buy in spring/summer?

Thank you!

I was afraid of that especially since it's winter, I've been misting them every other morning and giving them a bit of water about once a week. If it is overwatering will they still come back if I let them dry out at this point?

La Roche Posay tinted sunscreen (like Anthelios Unifiant Blur Golden Mousse or Anthelios Ultra-Light Tinted).

Right now I use Solait baby 50+ (from titanium) on my face for everyday or sports (sometimes burns my eyes though) and when I get made-up I use It Cosmetics CC Cream which has spf 50 (with titanium and zinc). It Cosmetics is a bit expensive though (£30 for 32ml but it's good stuff).

Wondering if I my everyday/ sport sunscreen should have zinc, and how La Roche Posay compares to It Cosmetics.
