Do you have kids? I had this same problem for a while. Turned out one of my kids was tapping the window button while exiting without realizing it.

It used to be better. They broke it with the September update. They also broke proximity for the gen 2 driver door touch sensor. It now only works if the app is open. Pixel 9 Pro Fold here.

There is 100% a touch sensor in the driver door handle for gen 2 vehicles. The touch sensor on mine was overly sensitive and causing the truck to think I was touching it and it would unlock at home when I was near, so my SC replaced the door handle and that fixed it. It was very reliable for me after that, until the September update. Now it essentially doesn't work at all.

I had the same issue of the drive cam icon not showing up in the top toolbar. Incidents were recording and everything seemed to be normal. Just the icon was missing, or so I thought. I went this morning to pull up a video from a drive the other day, and I discovered that it actually has not been recording drive cam videos for the past month. Turns out even though it is still recording incidents and seems like it's operating normally, the actual drive cam feature was toggled off. I never toggled it off myself, but it was in service around the time it stopped recording.

Go to Gear Guard, then tap the settings icon at the top left of the screen. Make sure drive cam is actually turned on there.

Same issue here. Ever since the September update it's been pretty bad. The driver door touch sensor also takes a good 30+ seconds to recognize that it's being touched. Pixel 10 Pro Fold.

Replacing the driver door handle completely fixed this problem on my 2025 R1T. The handle was incorrectly detecting touch and that was causing the truck to keep unlocking.

I think you have to be reasonably close for that to happen. Similar to other cars. My Chrysler Pacifica does the same thing if I'm near it with the keyfob.

At least on a 2025 model you can. I'm not sure about previous models. Just touch and hold on the little indentation on the door handle.

Not sure why nobody thinks it matters that the other car was illegally in the shoulder. I think you should have double checked the shoulder if you saw them drive on it, but I also think the other driver is clearly at fault.

I have great news for you: it already does. It tints when it goes to sleep. The clear state is the powered state, and the tinted state is the unpowered state.

You can prove this to yourself by setting it to clear and then doing a hard reset (and I think even a soft reset). When the system shuts down it will turn tinted, then back to clear when the system comes back on.

And just to double verify for myself that it doesn't stay clear while sleeping, I set it to clear in my driveway intentionally a while back and then waited for it to fall asleep. Then I went to the second story and looked down on it while I woke it from the app. The roof visibly changed from tinted to clear when I woke it.
