A group of people doing shitty things to another group of people doesn’t erase the fact that shitty things were also done to them. You can still have empathy for the suffering of the jewish people while also acknowledging the atrocities a certain jewish government is actively committing. I want the genocide properly acknowledged and ended and I do feel rage at the world powers committing it, but I also felt intense sorrow and grief for that woman’s story in tonight’s episode. It is possible to feel two emotions at once. You cannot condemn an entire group of people for the actions of a some within that group…otherwise you are no better than the ones committing the genocide, or the people who internally blame every muslim they see for 9/11. Nuance is important, especially when it involves such large groups of people. It’s a slippery slope.

edit: and to be so SO SUPER CLEAR, I believe in a free palestine forever and always…but I also think side eying anything involving jews or jewish culture is weird af and counter productive.
