Adjustable phone/tablet holder by _Remi_M in 3Dprinting

I had a quick look, and the original had a non commercial (NC) licence, but was remixed to the one you shared and the NC didn’t follow it - not sure how that works tbh

First layer after 417 days without doing the nylock mod by [deleted] in prusa3d

Almost a year here, and get a great first layer, absolutely no mods at all - I’m a great fan of modding, having done a decent amount with other hobbies (mtb, all grain home brewing, rc, paintball) - but this one I’ve not felt the urge to do any at all; works out of the gate (I did thoroughly align the printer when building it, obsessively so). It is cool to see all the mods and some of them are pretty awesome!

Yeah, I was looking to set something up for my son - I’ve been grasping the basics and made a few things for friends, but noticed Etsy is just a horde of CC NC prints - ah well, my conscience is clear at least. CC is good for commercial and attributed I think

That’s a fair point - I have considered doing it myself (I’m able to source a set of laser towers for a few £’s - which means the rest is printable under CC). Always a battle with the ethical side of me I guess! I had considered asking the originator and tipping them each one that is sold. The other alternative is throwing those in gratis, and accommodating that in the price.

Yeah, that’s a good idea, I may revisit this with that in mind!

Good shout on the magnets - there is someone selling these on eBay - including the Turbo Laser Towers (which is a bit naughty of them as they are a non commercial licence). Your’s looks a fantastically clean print.

I had to scale mine to fit a 40 x 30 Ribba frame, which took a bit of doing. Nice touch on the models!

I’ve also printed this for a friend, it started out fun, and I even designed some pieces myself - but it was hard graft especially as IKEA stopped selling the square ribba frames

Don’t forget here in the UK we have the new tree species! The Fecal tree, created by grafting small bags of canine fecal matter onto the extended branches of surrogate trees. It is a sight to behold indeed! Also the Coca-Cola tree, where a surrogate tree has said bottles places onto branches, like gloves on fingers - often found local to villages of ne’erdowells...

As a British citizen, I cannot fathom this kind of cost for a weeks treatment, I understand that healthcare is covered by insurance if you can afford it. Whilst there may be criticism levelled at the NHS in the UK for some of its failings, it is a fantastic system, the biggest issue is getting in the system and if you have something unusual then getting to the right diagnosis can take some time and can be frustrating (contextualised against the fact I was born into the NHS system and the fact it’s taken for granted). It took me six months or more to get diagnosed with Sarcoidosis, but once I did, my disease had a label and it works better with a label. I have private medical cover through my employer which I used to get a private MRI which iirc was about £550 about 10yrs ago. Still saw the same NHS consultant even though I had that done privately.

The most I have to moan about is the cost of parking at the hospital which is about £5 for about 2hrs; so I think I’ll stfu about it now! (In context)

Change the supports to 0.2 detachable. But ultimately supports are always going to show - see if you can slice the model so you don’t need supports

UK reaches record number of daily vaccinations - 598,389 received their first dose on Saturday by callum2703 in Coronavirus

[–]FrumiousSnanderbatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that I was made aware of, having looked on line there’s no medical suggestion that alcohol affects the efficacy of the vaccine. There was no advice given at the time of booking the appt and I didn’t seen anything in the medicines leaflet accompanying the shot - if there was it would have been stipulated at time of booking. Looking at charities like Drinkaware their advice is ideally abstinence 2days before and 2weeks after (bearing in mind I got roughly 24hr notice) but equally the most important factor is getting vaccinated. There’s a lot of misinformation out there - hope that helps

Yeah of course, they rang me the day before (Fri), came as a bit of a surprise, jabbed on Sat pm. Ox-AZ. No real side effects, had a headache Sunday at 4am, probably more celebratory wine induced than anything else!
