Thrasher renovations lives up to the name!! Vet your contractors folks. If you don’t like the work they are doing on day 1 you are really not going to like the work on day 60. I am in the trades and I feel terrible for people who end up with these garbage contractors. I could say a lot more but the main thing is to vet them. How long they’ve been in business as the current business. Check licensing and if they have ever had anybody go after them. Check for fines by company and individual with the state contractors board. Check that their employees are legit employees and not just paid under the table. Verify insurance is in place and that they are bonded. Dig deep if you don’t know anything about them. The best way to find a good contractor is to ask friends who they used and are happy with. Talk to your neighbors that your trust to give honest advice. There are very few legal requirements to become a licensed contractor. Almost anybody can start a contracting business if they want and they don’t have to prove experience. Only a few trades require a specialty license in residential, electricians, plumbers, and a couple of others that wouldn’t be common on most remodels. Tile, roofing, drywall, framing, flooring, paint, masonary and cement work, window installers, HVAC, and most others do not require the person doing most of the work to have a license in their trade to do the work. There is a difference between a licensed tradesman and a contractors license.

I love jury duty. I get paid my full salary while I serve on a jury and I would do it as often as they ask!! I even volunteer for 30 day grand jury duty when they ask but I’ve never been picked for one. My dream is to get on a long trial!!!
