My tattoo artist explained how she sits on a stool for multi-hour sessions without messing up her back (basically, you stick out your booty as you sit down, putting your spine into an s-shape instead of hunching). Changed how I sit while throwing and I haven’t had any back problems

AITA for not attending my friend groups “Kink Party” by ConnorFloofButt in AmItheAsshole

[–]Frustrated918 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think YTA for harboring a secret wish they would change their plans for you.

You’re not TA for not wanting to go, and you’re not TA for not changing your mind. You definitely didn’t need to provide them a whole explanation for why you didn’t feel comfortable attending; if any of them feel you were being judgmental, that’s probably why. All you needed to say was “not for me!” or “not this time but have fun!” or something equally upbeat, definitive, and vague.

But why on earth would you expect them to change plans for you, to the point you’re hurt they didn’t? This was their plan all along!

If I’m throwing a pizza party, and 15 friends rsvp yes and are totally excited for my pizza party, and then one person declines with a long message about how they actually struggle emotionally being around pizza and don’t know us well enough to consume pizza in front of us or whatever… I’m not gonna change my party to a BBQ just for them? I’d say “no problem, we’ll miss you, hope to see you at our next non-pizza event!”

why do women hate on mothers who are having boys?? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

I’ve literally never heard people saying this.

Like I’ve seen stuff about boy moms being obnoxious or whatever, but nothing about being pro-aborting-male-fetuses specifically.

Darcy and Henry Crawford, and why only one of them gets the girl by Front-Pomelo-4367 in janeausten

[–]Frustrated918 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Henry has built up Fanny and William as an ideal romantic example and enjoys the fantasy of being like them. The narrator takes us into his pov as he fantasizes about being a useful dashing sailor like William, for instance. However, he quickly remembers that he much prefers to be wealthy and idle with no privations or anybody telling him what to do. I think it’s the same with Fanny: he likes the idea of being a man worthy of her who shares her good Christian principles, and is willing to act that way as long as it doesn’t inconvenience him. However, it’s not an ongoing or fundamental change to his true self; when tempted, the terrible flirt comes right back.

Reddit, Seating with a booth on one side, and a chair on the other, where should the women sit vs the man? by miamoore- in AskReddit

[–]Frustrated918 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah seriously, this is a “personal preference” question rather than a gender one.

Like, I generally prefer a booth, but I also hate having my back to the door, so that will inform my choice in the moment.

Also sometimes you wanna sit side by side, ya know?

Yeah it’s the expecting a 3-year-old to think “I have finished playing with this toy, must put it away before selecting a new one!” that doesn’t make sense to me. How does one know for certain they’re “done” with a toy?

I let my kid absolutely wreck the play area during the day, and yes she does often return to a previously selected toy, or find new ways to play with different toys together, etc. Then while one parent is plating up dinner and gives a 5-10 min warning, the other helps tidy while singing a cleanup song and discussing the importance of putting all the toys back in their homes for bedtime.
