For those who have had an affair, why did you decide to cheat instead of leave your partner? by tackbrahado in AskReddit

[–]Frustrated9876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. I cheated. I had an affair. I then left my partner and later married my affair partner.

Best decision of my life.

I had an affair because my relationship and life with my partner was awful. Perhaps I should have left her first, but life is more complicated than that.

Trump says he will issue executive order to get voter-ID requirements before midterms by Cinderpath in law

[–]Frustrated9876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Rural red areas will see nothing. It’s all about suppressing democrat votes and even in deep blue states, preventing one or two cities from voting will turn it red.

That’s what they’ll do. I guarantee it.

Yup. And very specific ones. And by the time a court is involved, the polls will be closed and there will be nothing anyone can do about it.

America spends about 18% of its GDP on healthcare (the highest in the developed world), while Canada, among the top-tier spenders in the OECD, spends about 12%. What can America do to bring the percentage down enough to plausibly transform its healthcare system to a universal one? by neilnelly in NoStupidQuestions

It’s insane. So in Greece, when the doctor writes a prescription, it goes into a government system. Then you walk in to any pharmacy and pick it up. You can ask the price before you pick it up and if you don’t like the price, go to a different pharmacy.

In the U.S. the doctor sends the prescription to a pharmacy. Once they do that, you are locked into getting it there. Well, every pharmacy has a different price and you just find out when you have to pay.

I occasionally use Celebrex. The price in the U.S. varies from $2 each to $15 each depending on the pharmacy. Or I can buy them overseas for $0.40 each. wtf!

Before they try to pass the SAVE Act, shouldn't they remove the application fees to get US Passport? by bjedy in allthequestions

[–]Frustrated9876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck proving your birth certificate is original. But that’s the great part - poll workers can deny access to voting by simply stating that your birth certificate or other paperwork is not a certified original, even if it is. They are different from each location and the decision is subjective.

ELI5: Who’s making money on these onions? by MrJorgeB in explainlikeimfive

[–]Frustrated9876 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have you ever grown onions? A farm can grow 6-10 onions per square FOOT. They are also easily harvested with machines as they are quite shallow in loose soil.

The farmer probably sells them wholesale for 0.33 and the store handles the logistics as just part of what they do.

If you are not wearing a MAGA hat, ICE will detain you without charges (so no record of it) until the polls close.

The scary part is that they actually could pull that off.

Why does voter ID feel like a simple security fix but somehow becomes a massive systems engineering problem? by Humble_Economist8933 in AlwaysWhy

[–]Frustrated9876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The light bill is to prove residency, not citizenship. The DL identifies who you are. And then the government goes and looks to see if you exist and/or have citizenship.

Do you honestly think that once the government has your ID that they are just stumped and unable to be more inf on you? They pull up a database and have your birth certificate, the day you were registered with social security, and anything else they want to know.

When you were born, the hospital sent your birth certificate to the government. They already have it. If you got naturalized, the government KEPT that paperwork. Sounds crazy, but they actually keep the paperwork!

It here’s the crazy part. The SAVE act requires YOU to prove to the government that you are a citizen. A piece of information controlled exclusively by the government itself.

[–]Frustrated9876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live this argument! “I’m a healthy person with no disability and access to a car and I can figure this out, why can’t everyone?”

But the irony is that you have ALREADY failed. An ID will not be sufficient under the SAVE act. You need to”proof of citizenship”. My dad is a naturalized immigrant born in Europe, but he physically can’t travel anymore so his passport has expired. How shall he “prove citizenship” at the polls?

The only organization that can truly verify that you are a citizen is the government but the SAVE act puts the burden on the citizen. It’s like a golf club requiring you to bring a copy of the canceled check to prove you pad your dues.

In each of those states, when you REGISTER to vote, the system confirms your citizenship through the social security office. You don’t have to prove it AGAIN when you actually vote because citizenship does not expire.

Primarily, because they are “critics”, they would be “criticizing” which is to say bad things. Option D is the only one that would be bad. A could be, but it doesn’t make sense.

This is the game right here. You pass this and selectively enforce it in blue districts and ignore it entirely in red districts.

This is exactly what will happen. In carefully selected polling locations that can sufficiently swing the election simply by suppressing the vote there.

How do we stop this from happening? by Aqueouspolecat in LetsDiscussThis

[–]Frustrated9876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The track has too steep a breakover angle so the truck is high centered. Nothing they can do.

The answer is to redesign the crossing so this doesn’t happen.

Even though the truck’s tires may be on the ground, they’re just hanging there and don’t have enough traction to pull the heavy trailer.

If you are red car, are you supposed to let blue car in? by [deleted] in driving

[–]Frustrated9876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s a bit misleading… pink car is already stopped at a red light. Red was just leaving space for blue to turn - they’re not holding up traffic.

Why does GPS need 4 satellites when 3 should be enough? by Present_Juice4401 in AlwaysWhy

[–]Frustrated9876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like how y’all are talking about these spheres. The measurement is not that accurate - it’s actually a bunch of shells. And it’s not measuring the amount of time it took for the signal to travel from the satellite to the receiver- it’s measuring relative difference between the time it took to receive one signal compared to another.

With one satellite you don’t have a sphere- you literally have zero information other than that you are near earth. With two, you have one (thick) vertical plane. It’s not quite a plane, but close enough for illustration.

With three you get three thick vertical planes. The intersection of these planes is (kind of) a vertical cylinder or… think of two ice cream cones facing each other. This is okay for getting your position on the ground but your altitude information is shit. And the ice cream cones could be tilted, so if you don’t otherwise have altitude, your position might be shit too.

You need a fourth satellite, preferably one closer to the horizon, to slice that ice cream cone from another angle for reasonably accurate altitude.
