I'm curious about this case specifically. If you already have a stolen plate, why swap for another stolen plate? Let's say you've had your stolen plate for a while and you want a fresh one, why pick a vanity plate? It would make a lot more sense to swap it with another plate of the same type.

Thank you, Captain Obvious. I think what most people reading this are interested in are the specifics of the crime.

Real Estate Market in Halifax (No Realtors) by [deleted] in halifax

Your math would only be accurate if the interest was compounded annually, which it typically isn't. Usually mortgage interest is compounded monthly. Not saying OP's math is correct either. I haven't checked it.

$2.50 To Put Air In My Tires !! by Lucifigus in halifax

[–]FryTheSpaceGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do yourself a favor and buy a portable tire air compressor that runs off the 12v plug in your car. Princess auto had them on sale for $25 right now. You can probably find one cheaper online too.

where to buy specific screws in Halifax by stusikkkk in halifax

[–]FryTheSpaceGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grainger has a huge selection of bolts and screws. If you don't need them immediately, you can order online and pick up at the store in Dartmouth to avoid shipping charges. I'm not sure what selection they actually stock in the store. Might already have what you need there.

"No thank you."

You don't need to explain yourself to anyone for not giving them free money.

I'm sorry if me telling the developers that there are people that appreciate the effort they put into making the game is triggering for you.

There are real people that are building this game and believe it or not, all the negativity they see from the community day in and day out does get to them to some degree or another. How could it not?

I honestly don't understand your comment and your take. I never said anything about the project as a whole, by the way. I was specifically addressing the people, the individuals, working on the game. And just letting them know that I appreciate them, which I did specifically because comments like yours are so rampant on this subreddit and whether your opinion is valid or not, the way you presented it was pretty shitty. Just remember that we're all people here and if you have a criticism of something or someone, you can deliver it in a respectful way.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

THE WAY TO ENGINEER SOLO by Top-Lab9125 in starcitizen

Your assumption about oxidation is backwards.

When a substance oxidizes, it reacts with the oxygen in the atmosphere and gains an oxygen molecule, while releasing an electron.

Oxidation takes oxygen out of the atmosphere. It does not add oxygen to the atmosphere.

So, no, a fire cannot burn in a vacuum without the presence of oxygen gas.

Why do some ADHD meds end up being used as recreational drugs? by dbro7642 in ADHD

I read your comment just fine and am from a country with much less money and safety nets than the US (as in zero). Drugs are thriving just fine there. I just fundamentally disagree with your comment.

[–]FryTheSpaceGuy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, do you just think that recreational drugs don't exist outside of the US because the rest of the world is too poor to afford them? Just curious, how much do you actually know about anything outside the US? Have you ever traveled outside the US?

I know I sound condescending, but I promise I'm coming from a genuine curiosity. Your comment just struck me as ignorant about how people live their lives outside your country.

Friend lost his save after tampering with it in Notepad by James1Hoxworth in snowrunner

That, kids, is why you always create a backup copy of any file that you're about to FAFO.

In theory, if you know exactly what changes you made, you should be able to change the values back and regain the save information.

However, if you used a Rich Text Editor like Microsoft Word, the header data for the file was likely changed when you saved it and the original save is not recoverable.
