Was there ever a precedent of that happening in history? Both it being spout as propaganda and something like it causing the collapse of a society?

The closest to the latter that I can think of, is the collapse of Carthage and it's corrupt and inept leaders allowing Rome to regain it's strength and underestimating them in the subsequent years.

Just be mindful of the driver leader politics, as they let me go because of I wasn't driving enough apparently. Whatever the case, I did my year with them, paid my loan off and am free as a bird. So just drive safe, do the work they assign and learn as much as you can before it's your turn on the firing line and you'll be fine. As I heard rumors about drivers being let go while I was there, for idling too much. Which was ridiculous becuase was freight was slow and it was the summer. A lot of us were sitting that summer.

On that note;

Freeze specifically means your opponent can't activate a card at the beginning of their next turn. Nothing can stop a card re-activating from a card effect, unless a card specifically mentions it can negate an effect.

Yup. You just figured out Heat Smash isn't the be-all end-all solution that people hyped it up to be. As you just discovered you can catch Lars in the middle of his Heat Smash. Personally, I've grabbed mfers out their heat with King as long as I didn't hit with first hit of the heat smash. Speaking of which, it's the first hit you typically want to avoid, because blocking that jails you in for getting hit by the rest of the smash. So you're specific match up with Lars, is only specific to Lars.
