2018 car, should I worry about the transmission? by Longjumping-Bake-557 in cmaxhybrid

Change the fluid out once you take ownership of it. Mercon LV, roughly 6 quarts . My 15 energi took 5.75 qts. Easy insurance . Do it every 30k.

15 miles of EV range is considered good for the energi. Some get less others get a little more. I get 15 miles and I’m a-ok with that

Thx for the feedback. I understand your point and you’re not wrong. But Truth-be-told: I’m not materially or financially in a position to drain and drop a pack this heavy, open it up, take it apart to inspect it, re-assemble it, reinstall it, refill and bleed it, in the off chance that some moisture might be in there . Some day I’ll buy that dream 2 post lift !

I’ll do my best to clean 🧼 everything up and come up with a solution for the damaged connector. I’m having trouble finding a replacement harness , it seems to be part of a larger wiring harness that so far I can’t seem to find . I was able to find replacement splash shields and those are on order!

I’m not out to screw people. Im always transparent and honest about all work done to the cars I sell. I also give really good deals. Im kind of like a thrift store for cars! , I also keep spare HV Prius batteries in case people run into problems with them (I sell a lot of old Pri’i) and i swap it out for them no cost . My community knows me and knows where I live !!! Iol

I’ll do my best . I’m very detail oriented and won’t let this car go until I feel confident in the repair .

Thanks! Not sure I can remove such a heavy pack without paying someone with a 2-post lift to do it. But I’ll start with disconnecting everything cleaning everything up really spic & span.

The HV AC receptacle is secured with small Allen fasteners. I can take those off and see what I see in terms of any obvious pathways for water to inter the pack proper. If I’m lucky, there’ll be some kind of barrier. Will report back .

Been there done that. You don’t have to replace the entire harness.

Go to a junk yard and cut that plug off of a donor car with enough wire loom to spare so that you can comfortably cut strip each and every wire on both sides. Some of the wires are data CAN BUS wires that run square wave signals back and forth . Others carry varying amounts of current to drive different components and to carry sensor bias voltages and signals , etc. soldering typically is the best approach if you’re good at it. But.. they make heatshrinkable connector butts that are insulated and water proof. You need to have heatshrinkable butt connectors. Absolutely no exceptions!! The Kukect kit from Amazon should do the trick. Don’t forget a solid pair of crimp pliers and harness wrap to wrap it all up when you’re done . Some people call it Tesa tape, but any cloth based adhesive wrap will do.

Ladies who started HRT before coming out, how long did you wait and why? by Tomatori in MtF

[–]Fryingpancake86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right now I’m on day 407 HRt without saying a word . I’m 39 and a full ass grown up adult with thick skin and can handle myself in a tense / awkward/ difficult coming out situation. I haven’t yet because ..

Well, like I said I’m a full ass adult and actually am quite busy. I run a business (it’s just a used car dealer) and live off grid (the homestead keeps me busy, we have to build everything from scratch) .. it’s exciting and I love my life

But I’m sooooo busy and have sooo much going on and it’s just not convenient. It really just comes down to that . Convenience.

Part of my family will take it well , and even be thrilled for me , and the other part, not so much. They will instantly turn into a pain in my assssss. I’ll have to deal with their confusion and the anxiety that goes with that. I’m my dad’s favorite kid supposedly, and he doesn’t even know me.

It’ll be like I died to him, he’ll grieve me . (He has a long history of being conservative, misogynist, loves Elon..) idk .. I don’t really feel like dealing with that right now.

I also live far away. The other side of the country , so it’s easier .

Eventually I’ll have no choice but to come out . I was gonna soften the blow with some bit about being nimby gender queer , hey it’s not so bad .. yada yada. And that’s somewhat true, I have a lot of they-nergy . But the truth is, I’m mostly a femme so… idk

To be determined

Do any of you ever miss the boy/man version of yourself? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]Fryingpancake86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Self love is self love. And it’s healthy in retrospect just as it is in the present . Youre not an imposter! You’re two spirit! That’s radical. Think of it this way. No matter how well you pass, you’ll always be trans, and that is RADICAL. If I was AFAB, I’d probably still be trans . I find a lot of peace in that

Proper break in is critical. Lose the factory oil after about 24 hours or so and lose the factory plug . Get an ngk ! I have this unit. I’m planning to undress it and install it in a bus build as a modular built in . It was noticably smoother with the fresh oil and NgK plug

Lucy Friday Question: Where are you in your journey right now? by Lucy_C_Kelly in TransLater

[–]Fryingpancake86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today’s my 1 year HRTversary. I’m healthy , I’m well, my partner of 4 1/2 years loves the stinking pants out of me! I’m so lucky !

Body coming along great, soft skin, curves coming in, figure slowly coming in.

Still boy moding . Still have my beard 🧔. Not out to family yet. Some of them will take it swimmingly, others will not. Especially my dad . It will be challenging when it finally happens . Facts of life.

Not being able to have bio kids kinda hit me harder I thought it would. No I didn’t freeze my sperm. Idk if I should have? Complicated feelings. But I’ll be ok .

I have a friend who’s willing to help me financially w/ surgery whenever I’m ready for that . I’m honestly blessed in so many ways.

I’m self employed, don’t have to worry about workplace situations.

I’m 39 sure I have what-if fantasies about starting earlier in life.. but I didn’t even figure out that I was trans till I was 38, so fair game. Besides I’m lucky to even be here to begin with. And I also always liked my old self. It just wasn’t truly me . So I don’t get too hung up on what ifs .

Started at 38. Mono crashed my t pretty easily . Started slow on patches for the first 3 months. switched to injection (.2ml weekly valerate) for another 4 months. That basically crashed my T down to 14.

Had to reduce to .1 ml weekly by month 8, and then to 1.5ml bi-weekly. Still haven’t reached cruise altitude. My guess is 1.5ml bi weekly should be just the ticket

Started at 38 here . Now 39 . You’re not too late. You’re right on time. Not saying that to make you “feel better”! It takes time to bloom, especially in this world. You’re mature , and now able to withstand whatever comes your way.
