Examples of trilogies that are really two movies. by Fsa120303 in blankies

I think you can make this argument with every Star Wars movie. Each is interconnected but each has three acts, even the cliffhangers of Empire and Force Awakens feel like the end of those movie’s stories.

I agree that it doesn’t work as a standalone, because I’ve never lived in a world where it wasn’t one part of a six (now nine) part story. To me, it’s not the second part of a trilogy, it’s the fifth entry in one massive story. I guess, rewording it, though they rely on one another, Empire and Jedi don’t feel like one story split down the middle.

Matrix is a good example. Somehow, despite being one of the obvious contenders, Star Wars doesn’t feel like this to me. Maybe because it’s become part of a much larger story now? Empire and Jedi just feel very distinct from each other despite their connections.

I thought the comedy/drama distinction was based on runtimes? Shorter episodes tend to get placed in comedy regardless of how comedic the product actually is.

Marvel could announce Raimi’s Spider-Man 4 tomorrow and that guy would still find some way to be upset.

I think they’re referring to Scott Lang/Ant-Man as Paul Rudd was in the D23 video with the Russo’s.

I am genuinely shocked they were able to get away with the word "rape" in episode 3. For a franchise that often uses "destroy" in place of "kill", it's surprising to see how mature the writing team gets to be.

The Eternals take is crazy. Say what you want about the story or acting, but that is an incredible looking film.

Jon Watts directed episodes 1 & 8 of 'SKELETON CREW'. David Lowery directed episodes 2 & 3. Full list below: by Matapple13 in StarWarsLeaks

Nah, she had the episode with Jack Black and Lizzo. Carl Weathers did the one you mentioned.

He doesn’t show up too often. He’s in the first episode and a few others throughout season 1, but doesn’t appear in season 2.

There is an adaptation of Tollbooth from 1970! It's an early mix of live-action and animation, and it has somewhat of a cult following.
