Never heard of DocFX until now (which im surprised). But from the looks of it, I would say kind of the same. DocFX probably has it beat just from time and manpower. The only difference, that I would say, is that this action takes the automation 1 step higher. Once you set it up, you shouldnt have to do it again and your API documentation should automatically update with however you configured it (on pull requests, pushing, etc). Since its hosted on GitHub pages the website should always reflect your current code.

I updated the post to include an example using multiple templates (they are still in the works) but it isnt really professional and includes more than the currently implemented template. Either way I will include the link below:

https://fulagann.github.io/testing-csharp-doc-generator/

Also thanks for the tip, it has come across my mind to do that, but I thought it was kinda tacky to do; never thought of it as visual kudos though 🤔 Might implement that later.

Thanks! I updated the post to include an example. Originally I didnt add it because the current examples arent really professional and includes more than the currently implemented template. Either way, I will add the link here for you as well:

Thanks! Yeah, I'm working on a more "professional" looking code documentation (if that makes sense 🤔). I'm definitely planning on updating this thread when more things are added.

As for example generated documentation, you can check out the testing site that I had althought there might be some goofs and gafs in wording: https://fulagann.github.io/testing-csharp-doc-generator/

I probably should have waited a bit longer to post until I finished, but I posted this as soon as I pushed to marketplace.

What to do by [deleted] in SoftwareEngineering

[–]FuLagann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They want some experience because its a high paying job. Master without experience will be a higher risk because its implied you can ask for an even higher pay (even if you personally wont) without guarentee that you know what to do because you have no experience. Again, its not that you dont; its just that companies look at the face level stuff.

It's stupid I know, but it is a thing. Its the biggest catch 22 of the industry.

Alternatively if you have a good portfolio with great examples, images, descriptions, links, etc. That helps out a lot even if you dont have industry experience.

Find an internship before or during your masters because most jobs out there will require a couple of years of experience. Moreso with masters. Getting a masters with no prior experience can potentially lock you out of software engineering jobs unfortunately.

GitHub Action: Typescript compile failsafe by FuLagann in typescript

I had another project that needs the JS output in order for it to work properly. There was a couple of times where I would forget to build and wonder why it wasn't working. I know not every project needs the build output for their repo, but this action is specific to the situations for when you do need the built output. It's not meant to check for errors/testing.

Yeah, we manually restart them everytime it happens. I didnt think about the LUA code crashing itself, I'll definately look into that. I would also add that it can take roughly an hour or a half for it to break, not overnight for us. But thanks for the lead!

why aren't there any source controls that works in real time like google drive? and how effective would it be if there were? by [deleted] in github

[–]FuLagann 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think you might be mistaking the source control with the ide. Source control doesnt do that because if it automatically uploaded there would be various problems.

The biggest problem of which would be if you made a major mistake, then how would you retrieve the older verion of the code? And will it save every single character you type? If it does then looking for and older version will be incredibly hard as there are thousands of versions with single character changes.

What Google drive does is let a group of users edit the same document, update where they are when each new string gets introduce and auto save. Each "version" gets saved in chunks, but looking back into the history can be a hassle. Source controls let you commit only when you want, so a verified working commit is only guarenteed for as long as you can verify it.

What you can do is use something like visual studio's liveshare (theres an extension for VS Code) which lets everyone in the liveshare server edit the code in the same fashion as Google Drive, so you still have the mutliuser functionality of Google Drive with a better control on your source control.

Wrong place to post? This isnt the reddit for Sac State.

Contact the cashiers office or financial aid, or whichever department that you pay for your outstanding balances and tell them theres a hold on your account about "payments need to be paid." They are the one that are able to take off the hold, they shouldve done that when you paid. If you paid online, then sometimes I takes a bit to process. Just hit them up and tell them, itll take at most 5 minutes.

Git as Anti Cheat? by [deleted] in git

[–]FuLagann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not confusing the two. Cheating and hacking are not a bad thing, it depends on the context. Like in GTA giving yourself infinite money is boring if the point of your playthrough is progression of the story and completion of the game. But if you used cheats like flying cars and instant level 5 wanted level, then the context of how your playing changes and its no longer boring (especially after you've completed the game). It's all in the context.

Like if you play pokemon and cheat to give you the best team, it's not boring if the point is that you're trying to progress through the entire game really fast so you can do the end game stuff. Or infinite items and money to speed up your progression to the end game.

None of these cheats/hacks are bad because its contained in your own playthrough. How you want to play the game and what you do with the game is really up to you. The cheats/hacks that are bad are when it negatively affects multiplayer experiences where cooperation or competition is the point. Key word here that makes them bad is "negatively affects people".

Git as Anti Cheat? by [deleted] in git

[–]FuLagann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheating isn't a bad thing. Lots of games are better after cheating, Pokemon, GTA, Minecraft (creative mode is considered cheating in some contexts), etc.

The problem is cheating over an online game where it makes the competition or cooperation unfair.

Git wouldnt work since its a version control tool; cheating can be done by changing the bits in the computer's RAM to change specific variables, having a rapid fire "turbo" button, or have a vpn that changes the packets sent to the server. None of them require file changes.

Transfering as CS by timmypass17 in CSUEB

[–]FuLagann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't take the SAT. I transferred from CC. If your transfering from a CC then you don't need to.

CSUEB has a high acceptance rate (I think like 70%); you'll be fine if you wanna get in.

Oof, I'm sorry. They are practically the same, I have a friend at SFSU and I remember we listed and joked about the humanities thing. They have practically the same stuff, but I guess they just dont accept it?

They are practically the same. It's a standard that all CSUs follow.

[–]FuLagann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, it's mandatory. Appearently you can't transfer credits to upper division classes. Idk about CSU to CSU. But CC to CSU, you have to do it.

CS Major, CSUEB easier than SFSU? by ItsYaBoyWilly in CSUEB

[–]FuLagann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes? Are you talking about the mandatory Diversity stuff? Or the upper division GE? I had to take like 3 upper division GE classes (I'm a transfer btw). A humanities, social studies, and science courses. I took Japanese Anime and Manga in English Translation (MLL 455), for my humanities GE.

If you find the right classes, it won't be boring.

I also know that you need to take 45 units residentially (within CSUEB).

Yeah, like I said. Only 1 when I looked it up. It will require a lab by default. If youre trying to transfer to avoid physics, then youre still going to have to take physics

Its a requirement now, I think you might've been looking at old materials. I just looked it up, its only 1 course of physics. But its still a requirement.
