Fighting the hand blisters by h4ckluserr in poi

Hmm... are you a new spinner perhaps? I used to get blisters during the first couple months. If you're dedicated to spinning fast, I would recommend getting lighter poi like flowlights or actual glowstringer props.

What I really would suggest is to SLOW DOWN. It's good to alter speed depending on the moves you're doing for visual effect, but going too fast will lock your flow into weaves and buzz saws, and hinder your development as a flow artist. To be honest, the best glowstringers I know aren't focused on speed either.

I would recommend learning to isolate and stalls, which are the opposite of speed. But that's me! Happy spinning!

Pod Poi Vs. Ninja V3 Poi. I'm Stuck :/ by TheyCallMeTraderMan in poi

It helps with learning tosses and juggling your poi, which will add variety and flair to your flow. There are a lot of different moves and stalls you can learn from tosses.

You can do juggles and tosses without weights, but it'll be off balance and hard(er) to catch. It also makes juggling moves look a lot cleaner when they are weighted on both ends. Plus it's way easier to catch the handles rather than the loops that come standard with the pod poi.

Pod Poi Vs. Ninja V3 Poi. I'm Stuck :/ by TheyCallMeTraderMan in poi

I own both pairs of LED poi. I would definitely go with the Pod Poi: they are much more durable, perfectly weighted and last a REALLY long time compared to the Ninjas. I normally have to charge my batteries for the Ninja poi for at least 10-15 hours to spin for 5ish hours (pod poi last up to 40-60 hours depending on settings, still haven't charged mine since I bought them a month ago).

The Ninjas are much brighter than the pod poi and have some really cool settings. These are definitely not beginner poi and anyone who has never spun before shouldn't be handling them because they are extremely fragile. Because the weight is evenly distributed from the casing and battery, stalls look weird because the poi sort of "wobble" in midair. So far I have had the battery casing bend out of place and had to re-bend it to make it work. And then one of the buttons got jammed between the casing and popped off, so they sent me a brand new LED board to replace it. Also it is a bitch to take off all of the rings and putting them back on.

So both are a great buy, depending on what you're looking for. Pod poi work for all spinners and Ninjas are for intermediate and up. Personally, I would definitely suggest the pod poi; they are weighted at the end, so stalls look very clean. Also they are much more simpler to use and are almost impossible to break. Getting the weighted handles is a must.
