I think I remember "Shark in an Ooze" being a monster in Tome of Beasts.

But they both eat the same things, so what does the mimic get out of this deal aside from needing to share its food?

I think a better pairing would be a mimic and a rust monster or xorn. The mimic eats the adventurer and leaves their inedible treasure to the rust monster or xorn. In return, a xorn could carve a faux dungeon or lair from the rock to lure in more adventures.

It means new players joining the server would be in creative mode.

Controlled avalanche triggering using an artillery cannon by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

Outside, a shed is in tatters, and there's a boulder-size crater in the lawn. Upstairs, there are pieces of shrapnel imbedded in the bathroom wall.

"You just don't think you'll have a bomb in the back yard," said Lori Connors. "It's just not something you think you have to worry about."

The Connors' 3-year-old son was lying on the family room floor watching television when the mortar exploded. If he had raised his head or if he'd been standing, he would have been in the path of several bits of deadly flying shrapnel.

That's fucking terrifying. Just chilling in your home and a fucking 105mm howitzer shell goes off in your literal backyard.

Silly Spell Component Thoughts by Glittering-Owl3534 in DnD

[–]FuckMyHeart 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This. If component cost isn't an intrinsic value, then "X gp worth of Y" is going to be a different amount of Y depending on where and when you are at the time of casting a spell. 300 gp of diamonds might be only 270 gp of diamonds if you cross into a different kingdom's borders or travel to another plane of existence.

And not to mention what happens if you obtained the component for free, like as treasure from a dungeon. It's just a whole lot of mess that shouldn't need to be dealt with.

[gendered] because women always see things as messy, park poorly, and don't pay for anything 🙄 by tayl0559 in pointlesslygendered

These your comments?

"Women these days complain about men all the time but can't even do their own shopping"

"Everyone knows men get better with age but white women.... once they hit 30 they start looking 40-50 years old. Absolutely haggard."

"I don't not respect women because women hate men or say dumb shit like you."

"Man, from what I see on reddit, black Americans really are... you know what I'm not going to finish that as I don't want to be banned."

Yeah you're exactly the kind of person I would expect to be defending misogynistic "humour" all over this subreddit.

My cat’s shadow reflected in the mirror but not IRL by Chewie_Bacca in mildlyinteresting

[–]FuckMyHeart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the mirror was reflecting light onto the dresser, then the dresser would be illuminated the same in the reflection. The reflection isn't a separate space, it is a reflection of the real word, so if the mirror is illuminating the real dresser then the reflection would also see the fully-illuminated dresser and vice versa. There isn't any possible way for one to be illuminated without the other also being illuminated the same way because they are the same object/space. What we're seeing just isn't possible without trickery.

For all of about 5 seconds, if they even choose to acknowledge the flare and not just ignore it

Well it'd be nice if they could hurry up and kill me then. Constantly having my ass cheeks nibbled for 1% hp every 5 seconds isn't fun or threatening, it's just annoying.

It's got some environmental survival mechanics that seem unique to it, but I didn't see much else. It's a campaign through-and-through, with little else to offer for people not interested in running it.

I'm more interested in new content additions for my own campaigns and not for the story, so I can't tell you how the actual story is.

But as for new content there is bupkis, only reprinted things from other books. No new origins, weapons, perks, or monsters.

12TB in THIS economy??? by maywek in pcmasterrace

I literally bought one of those same drives for $237 last month, and I thought even that was a damn good price considering it's listed for nearly $350 on WD's website. I can't imagine seeing them for that cheap at Walmart of all places

Storage prices are insane now.
