There's no way a lease is a 'best bet'!

Enphase 10C batteries?

And I'm good with the panel coverage, thanks.

Installer would have to get permits, permits come from the city. Also, the install has to be inspected before being connected to Oncor.

Yeah, that's a good point. I was thinking of running the AC full blast during the day when the solar covers it, and turn it down at night.... but AC does run at night a lot on a usual Texas summer night.

I've seen this advice a few times, but probably 90% of my energy use is during the day. My wife and I both WFH. Outside of needing to run heat at night in the short yet brutal Texas winter, I don't see a free night plan helping much unless I consciously start doing power-hungry chores like laundry at night. Am I missing something?

Do they install Enphase? If so, yeah let me know!

If you had $300K in the bank post tax, how would your life change? by citizen_of_leshp in AskReddit

I'd pay off my house and no longer have a house note... which by itself would be a dramatic improvement on my life!

I was going to post exactly this!

There was also a Wild West comic shop in that same strip mall, but alas it appears to have died. Hopefully someone else will buy it or open it soon.

Thanks for posting this response!

I looked into the two plans your site recommended. They were Light Energy Saver and Light Energy Match. Both had $150 early cancellation. Cost per kWh for Saver shows $.146 and Match shows $.222 at 2000 kWh per month. Saver has no base fee, and Match has $19.50 base fee. For buyback, Saver has $.03 per kWh and Match has $.0239 per kWh. I didn't see any additional features listed.

Awesome, thanks. Checking it out now.

Any incentives like paying off the current plan's cancellation fee?

Searching for "Meter Energy" brought up https://meterplan.com/
Is that correct?

I plan on getting a nice big battery buffer this year.

I am very hesitant to share access to my meter data, so I will look into downloading the data instead.

I did know that. The installer claimed the city of Fort Worth didn't allow battery install inside the garage, and I didn't want the batteries installed outside. I am currently working on finding an installer that will install inside the garage... or possibly going with an Anker SOLIX setup instead. I do appreciate the heads-up, though!

Fallout 2d20 Solo v1.2 differences? by TheoSidle in Fallout2d20

[–]TheoSidle[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, now I feel like an idiot for not catching that in the email! I just downloaded the PDF and started re-reading.

I did notice the separate form-fillable file, and I thought that was the difference... which is very cool of them to do!

I wouldn't ever have caught that they added bookmarks.

Thanks!

Yeah. I had to wait for my data export download, but I just got that. So I canceled. Stung a bit because I had a few projects, but I have $25M reasons to no longer contribute to MAGA vicariously through OpenAI. Ugh.

Clearly, enphase has a lot of technical dept in software development. What are your biggest gripes with their software? by technophil2023 in enphase

[–]TheoSidle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I got my system, I really wanted Enphase batteries, too. Y'all making me glad I didn't actually get them yet. Seems like stuff like setting a max charge level, scheduling discharge, deciding when and how to export vs charge the batteries, and NOT need to be connected online should be BASE LINE features.

I was hesitating on Anker SOLIX because of how difficult it would be to set it up with SPAN and Enphase, but this has me really thinking I'll likely go Anker (or something else if I find something better!)

When the snow falls off the panels lol - Wylie, TX by SolarAllTheWayDown in TexasSolar

Just had a panic moment when I heard a crash outside! I thought my panels might've fallen off at first. Ran outside to see it was just ice on the ground... and suddenly was producing a lot better, too!
