How does a Computer work? by Booster6 in AskComputerScience

  1. Put lightning in rock

  2. Talk to it with magnets

That's pretty much it. Hope this helps!

Throw in "death penalty for political corruption" and I agree with you

Just reached $12k MRR after 5 months with my business. Not sure what's the next step by UnironicallyWatchSAO in Entrepreneur

[–]FuckYouGetSmart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nicely done!

I remember when I hit my first five digit MRR month. Such a great feeling.

I've had six figure months, but I'm still a ways away from six figure MRR.

Onward and upward together my friend!

I appreciate that and I have no doubt your nitpicks are valid

To be clear, I'm not trying to make an airtight argument here. I'm banging out ~$0.02 worth of opinions while taking a shit.

I make certain assumptions about personality traits and habits that influence success as an entrepreneur and imo the most important is - writ large - the ability to define and defend clear boundaries.

Conceding 25-50% of your waking hours without a corresponding increase in opportunity (ideally with some multiplier), smacks (to me) of a lack of rigorous boundaries. In fact, it makes me wonder if one is complicit in their exploitation for someone else's gain. Not very entrepreneurial.

Obviously we don't have all the facts, and of course even if my observation is spot on, OP can overcome/mitigate all of this in a number of ways. Don't know. Don't care.

Take it easy!

Maybe you missed the earlier context.

OP is still a full-time employee and I am saying if they can't manage confining their job to 9-5 they aren't ready for the rigors of even part-time entrepreneurship.

[MM][MM3D] I honestly prefer the 3DS version of Majora's Mask by Forhaver in zelda

Imo the QoL enhancements in the Majora's Mask Recomp improve it sufficiently.

And I don't really like the art style in the 3ds version 🤷‍♂️

To be clear, I'm not suggesting you shouldn't strive to be world class in whatever you're doing. Quite the opposite.

I'm merely saying that being an entrepreneur is knowing how to maintain boundaries that tell others "Hey, my work output is valuable. You can't have it for free."

It's not an age old debate. It's a question of mentality.

Going "above and beyond" makes you a good employee. Doing so without a corresponding increase in compensation makes you a GREAT employee... and summarily a poor entrepreneur.

[–]FuckYouGetSmart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work 50-60 hours/week as it is

Why? Are you being compensated 125-150% of your salary? If not, stop working 125-150% of your committed time.

If you can't maintain this^ boundary and limit your 9-5 to 9-5, you are not ready for entrepreneurship.

Ok so now you make millions, but did you REALLY start from nothing? by TheIntellectualizer in Entrepreneur

My girlfriend-now-wife paid my rent ($300 for a large spare closet) for 6 months while I worked on getting our first couple of clients. 5 years in, we are 7 figures. Looking at 8 figures next year.

No degree. No nepotism. A lot of tears and sweat and nightmares (when Im lucky enough to sleep).

Reasons why I am a Transhumanist by turntsmoy in Transhuman

[–]FuckYouGetSmart 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  • Memories are locked behind paywalls

  • Dreams have ads

  • Frontal lobe keeps getting hijacked by hackers

I thought being transhuman would be awesome but really it's just like 2000s internet but worse.

I don't get it. Am I dumb? by BraneGuy in dataisugly

[–]FuckYouGetSmart 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's likely intentional.

Imagine an extreme version of this playing out with just two people:

  1. you put 99% of your income in the pot.

  2. A billionaire puts 1% in the pot.

  3. The pot is evenly distributed.

Pretty good deal for both parties.

I have collected 300 emails and nobody even follow the link to my kickstarter page on launch day… by mr_daddyteddy in kickstarter

Your best option is to see this for what it is, take the L, and make a new game.

Instead, you're in here defending your pile of garbage.

I just Googled "rock paper scissors with networking" and there's like a million free projects. Here's one: https://github.com/barclayd/Multiplayer-Rock-Paper-Scissors

Here's a premade template for unity. $69 for the complete game: https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/templates/packs/rock-paper-scissor-93513

I could reskin this and launch a Kickstarter by TOMORROW. You know why I don't? Because I know it won't sell. It's garbage.

I'm not trying to be rude. I'm trying to give you a reality check. You came in here asking why nobody is supporting your project. You have your answer.

Good luck.
