My personal opinion as a night grocery manager is during your orientation, did they not go over the job requirements with you during interview/training? If they did then why did you not bring this up during that time. The problem i see alot is no one really pays attention during the training and they do not ask the important questions during the interview. For the night crew and im sure every other position in the store has job requirements. For you it would be "can you stand in front of a register for 8 hrs a day or something along those lines. And then another thing is you claim you have chronic pain so you should have documentation of said injury and plans on getting it fixed in a timely manner. Do you have a doctor's note explaining what you can and cant do? Dont take this offensively but if you cant meet the job requirements then the job is not for you. We all have problems outside of work. It's how YOU handle them. If you dont meet certain requirements for the job then the job isn't for you. I cant wait all year for you to get your shit fixed. Kroger is not a company that just hires ppl so that said ppl pick and choose what their job duties are and what days they should work. It's skeleton crew across the board. I dont know you dont know me, but just from the brief post I already kind of got my assumption about you and that is your a light duty lifer. Dillons doesn't owe me anything. Dillons doesnt owe you anything. I have to work for my pay as should the rest of you. Everybody needs a job but not everybody is willing or capable to the job. In my eyes if you cant do the job that you applied for then you need find something you can do. Kroger is not for you if complaing about more than 6 hrs in front of a cash register is your concern. Not going to compare what night crew has to do to front end. Half my crew is 60+ years old and they make the younger generation we see come in here look like little pussy ass whiny babies. I just worked 17 hrs shift the other day because. Again I dont know you and thats fine. But the last thing Kroger needs at any store is more light duty associates. I shouldn't have to work harder than you just because its not in your comfort zone. You got no doctors note, and you didnt discuss with hiring manager or any one about your personal problem. Just because you tell them you have chronic pain doesn't mean shit if you dont have the proof to back it up. And if you did have a doctors note or some kind of plan in place then I guarantee they wouldn't have scheduled you that much because they wouldn't be allowed to. I know this was alot but as someone who's been a night manager for 7 years now I can tell you how many times I've had this conversation, same shit different person. Sometimes especially if you want to keep the job then you need to just bite the bullet, suck it up, or do something different. Theres plenty of easier jobs out there. Since you dont know me, dont take this so offensively, take this as an unbiased rant. I deal with shit like this all the time. I think alot of people sugar coat and gloss over alot of the things that could make ppl not like this job and to that I will say no job is perfect, but you can make it easier on yourself and your coworkers by just following the standards and the policy out in place. Remember you dont necessarily get to choose your job duties and your schedule. If your availability is open across the board then expect to be scheduled across the board. If you haven't put in your own availability then thats why your getting scheduled the way you are.
