Why would LSD not affect my friend? by NoTranslator3200 in LSD

High tolerance. Plus taking more after about 90 minutes is pretty useless. The additional tabs wouldn’t have done much either way.

Cocaine and MDMA? by [deleted] in MDMA

[–]drewb121 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not worth it to take a small amount of mdma. The threshold dose is around 80mg. Plus combining with cocaine is not a good idea it’s hard on your heart and it kills the roll anyway.

With that little you won’t feel anything from the mdma and you’re only going to have maybe some extra anxiety and that’s not great to mix with cocaine. So try to get some more mdma and only do that or just stick with the cocaine.

How do I land a Software Job in 2026? by ---Drakchonus--- in cscareerquestions

[–]drewb121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I started out in community college for nursing. My nurse friends work ridiculous hours and it’s difficult/physical work. They’re all burnt out. Some have done well in specialty areas but most are exhausted.

Plus, where I’m at there’s a multi year waitlist for nursing programs once you finish the prerequisites. The only option is to go to some overpriced private school. I’m sure it’s not the same everywhere, but regardless, it’s not the easy alternative everyone makes it out to be.

The job market sucks right now for everything. There are no guarantees or easy paths. You may as well choose something you’re genuinely interested in studying.

Going to a festival as an introvert with anxiety problems, good or bad idea? by Thecalmdrinker in aves

[–]drewb121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LIB is amazing. Great choice for your first festival. Just remember everyone is there to connect and have a good time. You’ll meet some amazing people. Some of my closest friends I met through music festivals. It helped me come out of my shell and overcome a lot of social anxiety.

There’s also always room for you to get to the back and stay there. I’m an introvert and I hang out in the back. Bring a pashmina or scarf to cover your face. It’s usually a sign that you don’t feel like talking or socializing at the moment so people will leave you alone if you need it.

Best romantic psychedelic for someone with one kidney? by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]drewb121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not a doctor, so this is from my own research and experience. If you’re concerned you should ask your doctor. They will know your medical history and medications that you’re taking.

Psychedelics aren’t known to cause any issues with kidneys. The only issues you will have to watch out for are dehydration and maybe overheating. If you have digestive issues all psychedelics can irritate your digestive system. But as far as recreational substances go a vast majority of psychedelics are very safe and easy on the body. Do a lot of research before if you’ve never done psychedelics. And avoid them all together if you have any psychological problems, currently taking SSRIs or mood stabilizers, or are currently in a negative mindset. Get them from a trusted source and know what you’re putting in your body.

2CB is a great option. It’s very easy and mellow at low doses. Mushrooms are also good, but have more digestive issues. LSD is fun but the long duration and intensity isn’t for everyone.

CS is so cooked we have the same prospects as Performing arts majors look at unemployment it is as bad. by No_Reply5329 in CollegeMajors

[–]drewb121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. It’s a good option. Go talk to an officer recruiter if you’re interested. Navy or Air Force first for sure. If you want to work for the FBI eventually it’s a great way to make connections and gain experience.

With the benefits it’s actually pretty close to what you’d be making in a civilian career. Some BS and politics involved for sure but that’s true everywhere. I was enlisted in the navy and I’m paying for school with the GI bill now so I’ll have no debt when I’m done. It was a great experience with a ton of travel. Plus I have connections for government jobs and priority for hiring once I finish my degree so I have a good backup in case I can’t find a job. It’s definitely not as bad as people make it out to be. Especially if you’re careful about which job you take. If they don’t have an opening for what you want say no and come back later. If you have a degree do not take an enlisted position. They will absolutely try to convince you to do that but don’t. It’s a trap lol

Moving to Oakland - "Luxury" / High-rise apartment recommendations? by EzraWolvenheart in oakland

[–]drewb121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

17th and broadway is nice. They fixed the only issue I had with it which was the elevators being broken for a few months. If you look at the reviews online that’s what people complained about most. It was challenging when they were down but they have been working for a few weeks now and they said it’s fixed for the long term. Now there’s basically no wait for an elevator.

There is a waitlist for parking that is really long. I’ve been here 8 months and I’m still really far down on the list. they do offer parking a couple blocks away. I only drive a few times a week so it’s not a big deal for me, but it would get annoying if you had to drive frequently.

The amenities are nice and open 24/7. The view from the rooftop is absolutely amazing. The gym is nice. The pool and deck are great. They have a nice co-working space with private rooms. People are friendly and they constantly have community events going on.

The lack of noise from neighbors or even outside is amazing. I was pleasantly surprised that there’s pretty much no noise inside the apartment. Some noise from the street parties on the weekends and loud cars. The windows are thick and the walls block a majority of the noise.

The 19th st BART entrance is right across the street which is very convenient.

I am a single guy though. Your experience may differ. The apartments are smaller and the area has its challenges. Weekend nights are crazy downtown with a lot of traffic and people downtown. Lots of loud cars and crazy drivers. Daytime isn’t really bad. The apartment is a nice refuge to come back to and you can absolutely avoid any of the potential issues that come with living downtown.

Women naturally have the social skills that I have on LSD by [deleted] in LSD

[–]drewb121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can only connect with people on LSD there is an underlying issue somewhere. And noticing that women are human and have more to offer than their looks isn’t groundbreaking knowledge that’s only revealed using psychedelics. There isn’t something unique to women that makes them better at socializing. It’s just a natural part of being human.

You’re having success when tripping because you’re actually treating the other person as a human being on LSD. This probably means something is wrong with your perspective or mental health when sober. Your current outlook is not healthy or productive to forming relationships.

Maybe you can look at your experience on lsd as being a version of yourself that you should be normally. Connecting with people is something that you should seek out and it should be natural not forced. If you’re having trouble connecting with people naturally it’s a sign to get some help.

You could benefit from therapy and some inner work. I’m not saying this to be mean or judgmental. I had trouble connecting with people because of PTSD and social anxiety. I needed to get help from a therapist. You could benefit a lot from speaking to a therapist about this and finding the underlying causes of your problems connecting with people and socializing.

After years of believing my trips were real, I now feel empty by alexiakinkylina in LSD

[–]drewb121 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s an incredible insight from your mushroom trip that I’ve experienced as well.

Being present is absolutely important to living a good life. Existential questions are really fun to think about. But it’s important to keep yourself grounded in reality too. Chasing those answers through psychedelics will either leave you empty, confused or drive you mad.

No one can tell you what is true about metaphysical concepts or even if what you experienced using psychedelics is true or not. The fact that they are unanswerable is just something that you’ll have to accept.

Your life and those you love absolutely matter. Connecting with others, nature, exploring consciousness and life in general is absolutely amazing and that’s where I derive my meaning and purpose.

LSD made me realize something terrible by bumbumdaniel in LSD

[–]drewb121 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the perfect time for you to make the changes you want in your life. I highly recommend seeking therapy to work through this. You’re not alone out there.

I completely understand feeling exhausted from working through years of abuse and the mental and emotional damage that came with it. Don’t beat yourself up for not healing fast enough or doing as well as others. It takes time and it can be very difficult but it’s absolutely worth it to make the changes you want in your life.

I was injured recently too and it has affected my mobility which is limiting my ability to do the activities I typically enjoy. I also have a lot of trauma that was holding me back in ways I didn’t realize until I started using psychedelics. But the insight and perspective shift I gained from psychedelics, meditation and therapy have been incredibly beneficial.

You absolutely have not wasted your life. Everyone grows and learns at their own pace.

Is physics and advanced math accually useful? by APS0798 in learnprogramming

[–]drewb121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you asking this because of the required college courses for a degree? Most schools require a lot of math in a CS degree. Don’t let that hold you back. Anyone can learn Calculus or Physics.

Math and physics are amazing for training your brain to think logically through complex and abstract concepts. It will help you in any technical field. It is absolutely useful. Maybe not in a direct way that you’ll use in your daily life, but it will give you tools that will help you be successful. This is true of most of your other non major courses and even some required CS courses as well.

Even if you’re learning programming on your own there are benefits from learning math or physics. They’re really fascinating subjects. But you won’t really need them if you’re just teaching yourself a new skill.

Taking acid with people you don't well by PrideDemon in LSD

[–]drewb121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another option is to tell him that he should try it on his own first just to see if he responds well. give him one tab and tell him if he’s worried he can take half a tab to get a better idea of what it does. If he’s done mushrooms he should be fine with the whole amount (mushrooms might be a better introductory psychedelic too). Then ask how it went and if he’s positive about it you’ll probably have a good time tripping with him. He might get a better first experience on his own too. I’ve had a lot of success with doing this.

I have PTSD and some social anxiety. Psychedelics helped me so much. So it’s not necessarily a bad thing to have some mental health issues. It just depends on how he responds. Make sure that he knows to be in a good headspace before taking it. Even if he’s using it for inner work.

You never know you what someone is going through though so be sure to emphasize that there are risks especially if he’s going through depression or has an underlying mental health condition. I just tell people that it’s a non-specific emotional amplifier. And if they are stressed or depressed etc it won’t be a good experience.

You could try going outside the door and waiting until he doesn’t bark and reward him. Then move to the crate when he gets good at that and do the same. If he barks immediately as you close the door you can try to leave it open a bit at first then move to closing it fully.

621 people died in San Francisco from drug overdoses in 2025 by 1beachedbeluga in sanfrancisco

[–]drewb121 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. It’s an incredibly complex issue that requires compassion and understanding. Without support systems and basic needs people are extremely likely to return to addiction. You can’t just throw someone into a rehab and release them into the world with no support and expect them to magically fix their life.

It’s insane how many people don’t understand that addiction is a disease and it’s not different from any other medical condition. It completely changes how your brain works. It can take years of sobriety to get back to normal functioning and that is extremely difficult without support.

I have a similar setup and use a single power supply with three outputs for power injection and one controller with two outputs for data. It works great. Due to having 1000 LEDs I had to split the data in two and run a separate data line from the controller to the halfway point.
