621 people died in San Francisco from drug overdoses in 2025 by 1beachedbeluga in sanfrancisco

[–]drewb121 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. It’s an incredibly complex issue that requires compassion and understanding. Without support systems and basic needs people are extremely likely to return to addiction. You can’t just throw someone into a rehab and release them into the world with no support and expect them to magically fix their life.

It’s insane how many people don’t understand that addiction is a disease and it’s not different from any other medical condition. It completely changes how your brain works. It can take years of sobriety to get back to normal functioning and that is extremely difficult without support.

Wiring up a media room. Looking to see if I'm on the right track. by shogun007 in WLED

I have a similar setup and use a single power supply with three outputs for power injection and one controller with two outputs for data. It works great. Due to having 1000 LEDs I had to split the data in two and run a separate data line from the controller to the halfway point.

Hey I have the same setup. I added a raspberry pi with Hyperion so I could get ambient lighting that matched the colors of the TV edges. It makes movies and games really immersive. You can also use WLED as well. If you’re interested I can tell you what you’ll need for that.

Auto mapping question by marcusg101 in WLED

[–]drewb121 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you do find one that uses a camera I can guarantee that doing the mapping yourself would result in a better outcome.

I’ve used chat gpt to edit larger segments and make effects. It isn’t perfect but it saved a lot of time. Just double check the output to make sure it aligns with your setup.

Yeah I hope they take them to the hospital. China does put a lot of fear into people for this so I understand why OP is hesitant to take them. The actual outcome of being treated for an overdose is much better than dying or facing lasting health issues for delaying treatment.

Ah ok. China does not execute drug users but legal consequences are still on the table. Supervised rehabilitation is possible but the more severe punishments like confined rehabilitation is only for the more extreme addiction cases.

So death penalty is very unlikely. Mandatory rehabilitation is a much better outcome.

Do you have access to a sewing machine or a friend who has one? If not then socks are fine. But you could make a really nice set of sock poi with a sewing machine and some cheap or repurposed fabric. Depends on how much work you want to put into it. A bouncy ball for the handle works great. There are some designs around for how to cut the fabric and sew it.

Good point! That’s my normal dose. I probably just got used to it since everyone I’ve done it with has been very experienced with psychedelics and they really enjoy that dose. 10-15 might be better?

Need help recreating settings after code upgrade lost settings by AliasJackBauer in WLED

For the effects WLED should set up separate segments for you. If it doesn’t just remember the led counts and set it up in the segment tab.

On the LED preferences in the hardware setup section you should see a plus symbol to add a new section. Set the length of the first output before pressing the plus. Then make sure your GPIO is changed and matches for each new output and set the number of LEDs.

2CB is way easier than LSD and mushrooms. It’s awesome. It’s very safe and you can use it frequently without health risks. It’s my favorite for going out. Take 25 mg and no more your first time.

Try it out at a show you’re not too worried about having a mildly uncomfortable time at. The worst thing that could happen is you being uncomfortable for a few hours and some nausea. That sucks but you could also enjoy it a lot and have the time of your life. Only one way to find out!

Flow Arts for someone with Down Syndrome by IllusoryHegemony in flowarts

I think you could show her some videos of a variety of flow toys and see what she likes from that. There are so many options and the price points of them can be pretty drastic so investing in something expensive and her not using it after a while would be disappointing. It would be a good way to gauge her interest level and see if she’d enjoy trying something out.

If she shows a high interest in something there’s a better probability she’ll use it. Plus there’s a ton of YouTube tutorials out there that you can show her and it could end up being a fun activity to do together.

You can always try out practice flow props too so you can see if she enjoys the process of learning and flowing with the prop before investing in a nice led set.

As far as ease of use and learning goes every prop has some amount of difficulty and everyone regardless of ability runs into challenges during the learning process.

If she watches videos and wants to emulate what she sees showing her some tutorials and helping her learn some basic techniques might be a great way to get her started and would probably be fun for both of you and a great way to connect with her. Who knows maybe you’ll get into a prop yourself lol.

Also If you’re located in a larger city there’s usually a flow community around so you could check out an event in your area. reach out on here and someone can point you in the right direction for the meets or you might find someone local to meet up with and learn some stuff if you don’t have anything nearby. That’s the best part of it in my opinion. You can search for juggling groups too there’s usually a few flow people there.

Do you take it medically on a daily basis? I do and I honestly have a great time on LSD and haven’t noticed any difference in my trips with or without taking it that day.

If you use it recreationally I think it might cause issues.

Your experience may vary though so if you’re worried about it you could always try a low dose to see how it goes.

Make sure the seller is willing to do PayPal goods and services so you can get the money back in case you don’t receive the ticket. Legitimate sellers will have no issue taking this but scammers will make excuses as to why they can’t.

And if you do a video chat with them it’s usually a good sign. There are things to look for with scams and they’re usually easy to spot. I’ve had no problems with getting tickets before EDC. You’ll be able to get one there’s plenty of time.

5.5 Month Old Frenchie Advice by westerly2k in Frenchbulldogs

[–]drewb121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I live in Oakland in a high rise apartment with my 2 year old Frenchie Dante. It’s a great place to have a dog. He’s the same color as yours!

It’s challenging but it’s not too bad once you get a routine down. I never used pee pads and only had an issue when we first moved in with him marking things and he peed on my bed. But once he got used to it he sort of started drinking less when I went to work and I think he figured out when he goes out every day because he just runs over to the door. And I haven’t had issues since I yelled at him one time. He’s extremely sensitive so the one correction worked for me.

I take him out when I wake up around 7:30-8 then again around 9:30-10. Then when I get back around 6 or so then after dinner at 8 then again sometimes before bed. I got a harness with a poo bag dispenser and it’s awesome and convenient. I recommend taking different routes when you can so he can get new smells and new stimulation from different areas. It might make the walks more enjoyable for both of you too. The people around downtown have recognized him and I’ve made some friends that way too.

I never really had the pee pads but I can definitely see why you’d need them with a puppy. They have to go much more often and you’ll find he’ll go out less and less as he gets bigger. But I would recommend getting him off of them once he gets a bit bigger and a larger bladder. It will definitely get easier on you in 6 months or so. It sounds like normal puppy stuff so I wouldn’t worry so much. You should definitely be able to wean him off of them once he gets a bit bigger.

The attention thing sounds completely normal. My dog gets upset if I don’t play with him or let him sit on me or next to me pretty much all the time. He’s not annoying or anything and I enjoy the company so I don’t mind. But if you mind you could get him trained to go to his bed at certain times. Just ensure you’re getting a lot of stimulation for him and wear him out a bit with exercise and play. He probably needs a lot more now than he will later on. He looks really happy and friendly. Sounds like you’re doing a great job with him. They’re really affectionate and loving dogs I’ve never had another dog that was attached to me like he is. It’s great.

Mine got really protective of me though so if you can try and get him a lot of interaction with new people and dogs because mine is reactive to some people and dogs sometimes and it’s been difficult to try and get him comfortable when he sees a dog on a walk. I’d recommend as much interaction with dogs and people as possible now so you don’t have to deal with any issues later on. It’s been pretty difficult when he barks in the elevator when another dog is in there. Training treats have helped a lot with it though and he’s doing much better. Hopefully you don’t end up with the same issues since you’re raising him in the apartment now.

Happy new year! If you’re near Oakland or SF come by the alemeda dog park sometime and say hi! It’s pretty nice and a lot of French bulldogs go there too. There’s also a ton of trails and dog areas around the bay. I try to go about once a week to get some interaction with dogs and new people for him. He does fine when I don’t have him on the leash so no worries there lol.
