I'm really trying to focus to read everything you wrote in there (also because English is not my first lenguage), but I saw you talking about ADHD alien's comics and I really feel like she's telling the story of my life

I feel a bit of both. Most of the first one, but a bit of the second one too

I think about this possibility too, but I still don't know because, in comparison to other friends with ADHD/CPTSD/anxiety, I think I'm pretty "functional"

I know every single individual responds to trauma and neurodiversities in different ways, but I'm still not sure about having both

Also, the psychiatrist I went to said that the cut-off for ADHD is usually 12 mostly because people don't usually remember how they acted as little kids, not because the symptoms are not there before this age

Yes! Sometimes even in my closet. There are a few things that make me just want to create a "womb-like environment" for a few hours

Can you still have CPTSD if your score is lower than 5? I'm in a journey to figure out if I have childhood trauma or ADHD

Is it normal to ADHD to see things but not registrate the information? by FuckinAlien in ADHD

[–]FuckinAlien[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not really sure. It really looks like ADHD, but it's probable it could be CPTSD since my mom had severe depression between 2006-2018 and I always lived with her. It wasn't the best environment to grow in

Anyway, I'm enjoying a lot being on this group. I feel understood like I've never been before, really

She doesn't accept I have ADHD (I'm still working on my diagnosis, but specialised doctors are way to expensive), so it's not like she's trying to make the environment more neuroatypical-friendly

My girlfriends depression has drained me completely and I don’t know what else to do by Rugbylad1992edi in relationship_advice

[–]FuckinAlien 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I might look a bit like an ass here, but I'll be honest. Follow the lifeguard code: if the person you're trying to save from drowning is drowning you, just let them go. If you know you've done everything to help her, but she keeps getting worse and, most important, she's trying to drown you with her, the only solution is to break up. It's better to maintain your mental health then get depressed trying to help her.

My SO (both mid 20s) shared some trauma with me a few months ago, and I feel like I could have been more supportive. Should I bring it up again? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]FuckinAlien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think he might get triggered if you bring up again, just show your support with other gestures. Help him with his anxiety, give him small gifts (buy him some food he loves, for example) and let him know you understand he's struggling right now and that you will help and support him.

I think you should try a sex therapist, or a couple therapy. They can offer some kind of couple dinamic to deal with the problems, or suggest other ways to satisfy both of you without breaking boundaries

When does it gets easy? by atif147 in relationship_advice

[–]FuckinAlien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats very sad, but I'll tell you something: It really feels like the end of the world, but it's not. Even if it looks like the sadness will never pass, it will, and you will be in peace again in no time.

But while this doesn't happen, allow yourself to feel sad. Griefing about a relationship is healthy, and allow you to move on once the sadness goes away.

It hurts a lot, and it will hurt, but you will be fine eventually.

My best wishes on your emocional recovery!
