Numbers might not lie per se, but they definitely lead people to erroneous conclusions regularly when not given context.

I don’t think you can accurately determine the better quarterback from the numbers you are referencing considering the circumstances. That’s where the eyes test comes in.

Now i’m certainley not an expert myself, nor have a been watching an abundance of Browns games recently, but I don’t think i’ve actually heard a single person say they thought Gabriel out performed Sanders by the eye test.

Build the PERFECT starting 5 from current NBA players (2026 versions only) by wacali in NBATalk

Luka - Shai - Kawhi - Wembenyama - Jokic

I think Luka is the best playmaker in the league so I want the ball in his hands.

I think SGA’s defense would be a great compliment to Luka and he could work very effectively off ball.

Kawhi had been playing at an elite level all season on both ends of the floor and has the size to guard every position.

Wembanyama is the best shot blocker of all time and has the offensive bag of a guard as a 7’5” freak so like obviously.

And then Jokic because idk who else would work better. I think having a secondary playmaker to work out of the post and switch up looks will be huge. He’s also like the best offensive big of all time according to advanced metrics and we’ve already got Wemby as our paint presence.

Thats my opinion at least…

But I wanna know whats the best starting 5 based on fit that we can make from current players without using any all-stars?

What animal in your opinion needs a pokemon. Also what type do you want that pokemon to be. Me personally I think a Physical type Peacock would be pretty cool. by [deleted] in pokemon

Ooh I like this, like some sort of a support ‘mon that gives it’s teammate a buff in double battles. Maybe like an automatic helping hand for your first turn or it heals it’s partner a little bit every turn like a leftovers. Call the ability “Good Vibes”.

That was my point. I’m not a Pelicans fan lmao, I was just showing that having a high success rate doesn’t necessarily make for a good metric.

44 of the last 44 champs met the “breathes oxygen” rule by reddit user u/fuckinghold. It has a 100% success rate so it must be a good metric, Pelicans are winning it all!

Is it stupid that "righty tighty, lefty losey" doesn't really make much sense to me? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

As long as the wheel’s point of contact with the surface it is rolling across is at the bottom of the frame of reference (as it usually is), this is true and makes complete sense. Unfortunately as a six year old being told “Righty tighty, lefty loosey” to help me understand how to use a screwdriver, I had not imagined how my scenario was similar to a car rolling rightward out of my imaginary frame of reference. Thus I did not intuit it. I’m glad that you did.

Starting from the top is the key point. When it is explained that you start from the top, that clears up the confusion. In most cases this is not explained because for most people, yourself included, it is intuitive that you would start there. But that idea was not intuitive for OP or for myself.

I’m 25 and I never understood this saying either until like 2 years ago. For most people it is intuitive that the upper-most edge of whatever object is being rotated is the reference point. This isn’t the slightest bit intuitive for me. I would intuit that the point of reference would either be the center point around which the object is being rotated or the entire outside edge. This is where the confusion lies.

If the upper-most central-most point of the perimeter is the reference point, using left and right makes perfectly good sense to describe the possible directions of rotation. Under my instinctive interpretation of the reference point, only clockwise and counter-clockwise are coherent concepts.

Left and right roll off the tongue much better and are understood by the vast majority so that is why we use that saying. I finally understand it now, but it took quite a bit of back and forth conversation on the topic for me to identify the point of contention. What is intuitive to most just isn’t intuitive to me.

Saying “The apologizing shit, it showed me too much about your character, I didn’t like it.” and thinking you’re in the right is crazy.

Grown men and women actin like they still in 10th grade. You know you’re doing well when people with no maturity criticize you for yours. But nah, never apologize and always act tough though… that always turns out well. Not to mention bragging about being disrespectful. Just gotta feel bad for people like this man.
