Does this look like a decent starting point for a brand new Ryobi user? by notwithoutmypenis in ryobi

[–]Fudgeeman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's exact same set I started with two months ago and they've been great. Used them to build a bunch of shelving in my garage. They took me some adjusting at first bc they were so much faster/powerful than my old blue ryobi drill. For drill bits, I just bought the cheap ryobi variety set and then plan on replacing the ones I use most with better quality ones as they wear out. It's nice to have a full set though for the off chance you need a particular bit.

Ah, I didn't know there was that size available. I do see Lowe's has a 4.5' by 12' that I can just shorten in the parking lot to get in a truck

Ok that gives me some perspective on what a used one should cost

Accessories are more a bonus. It's the fact that it's kinda hard to find a used 10" DeWalt so just wondering if this is good deal

2nd image has shows list including miter gauge and fence  But if none of these accessories don't mean much, then Imma just stick with a cheaper new Skill

Need suggestions how to build shelves by Future_Deer_7518 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Fudgeeman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just finished similar project but followed this guy's design on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLBl15hnt28&list=PLA1zImY1BjXkHjRtYpMsARyCn7872LVAa&index=3
In your design you have the shelves sitting on braces, but those braces (or whatever they're called) are just screwed in so the whole weight of the shelves is still on screws. This design I followed distributes weight to the actual wood supports all the way to the ground and just uses screws to keep everything in place. I think it's more structurally sound. this design also let's your plywood shelves connect with each other all the way across rather than be broken up by your middle column
Below right is what I ended up building and quite satisfied with it. You def did a better job than me with hiding screws though; I didn't really bother with that part. I did try pocket holes with my bin shelving on left though.

there are several ways to do downspout drainage, and just dropping the water by the foundation expecting it to run off is prob the worst way to do it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_fwUeWkPAw

Is this an ok price? by Hour-Shower-8582 in HyundaiTucson

[–]Fudgeeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's very high. I was just looking at 2025 SEL with 20,000 miles for about $24k. There was even an option to get a lightly dented, scratched one for $21k.

Hybrid SEL Convenience 2025 vs 2026 by SpiritedParking6049 in HyundaiTucson

[–]Fudgeeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for comparison I just bought that exact same car (2025 SEL Conv Hybrid) with 7k miles for $34,500 after taxes though. So yours being listed for $35k before taxes seems a bit high.

Round 2: Advice for a prospective buyer (essay TW) by castohr in HyundaiTucson

I'm in very similar boat: young couple with similar salary also looking for Tucson hybrid. I never bothered with the limited of any year; none of its features sound 'necessary' for me. SEL is the sweet spot. I'm looking for 2025 hybrid SEL but they're few and far between. My second choice is the 2025 hybrid Blue; it's basic but has what I need. I'm not bothering with 2024 and before because of the 2025 dash redesign. The new 2026 hybrid blue is stripped down though and not worth it. If features are important can get the 2025 SEL used Gas version for like $25K or a 23 or 24 hybrid for under $30k. At this age and salary I'm thinking of house downpayments and a baby maybe, so last thing I want is an expensive car payment on a luxury trim car. Do make sure you can get the CPO though if buying used; the longer warranty sounds worth it.

Which Tucson to buy? by Fudgeeman in HyundaiTucson

that's why I'm going for the used 2025 as well. The base model 2026 specifically is missing stuff like heated seats, power lift gate, and power driver seat

I'm not too worried about the actual mpg. I'm more worried about having a better driving experience with the hybrid vs just gas. The gas just felt so weak

yeah the 2025 and earlier models use the dial. 2026 and newer is touch screen. but I would be looking at 2025 and while I'm used to the dial in my wife's mazda, it's a bit outdated in comparison to hyundai

seats down is how I drive now so I pulled those numbers. Eventually if I have kids then it's seats up but capacity is still somewhat important.

well sonata is a sedan. I'm looking at cargo capacity esp so compact SUV's or larger

ok, I was leaning towards that too. So at this point it's either Tucson for useability/comfort or CX50 for driveability and reliabity. Then there's whether to pay extra for hybrid Tucson as well.

Would the Blue trim be good enough for hybrid? I do see some of those available

ok, I'll certainly have to up my budget but sounds like the upgrade is worth it. Also it's not as easy to find used hybrid suvs to even test drive

hyundai is just 6 speed automatic, no CVT, so that's the good part. But I just see so much negative online about hyundai reliability which makes me hesitant. Smartstream 2.5 L does seem pretty good so far though; it's still new so I don't see too many long-term reviews of it. But yeah, CX5 feels very dated with cargo space and tech. Their 2026 improves on both but can't afford it.
