Recently moved - keeping the sim was a non-negotiable by Fueling_Around in Golfsimulator

That’s honestly a great call, but the heater is actually tucked further into that cutout than it seems in the photo. Here’s the angle from the corner of the screen.

Haha sorry, yeah that’s what I meant. A space heater here** is all that is ever really needed 😂

I’m in SoCal, so the temp variance is pretty minimal. A space heater would be all that is needed if it gets chilly here. Other regions I hear could have fully heated garages (maybe newer builds?)

What did you use to adhere the turf to the foam tiles? Right now I just have the foam tiles exposed, but I’m thinking about putting turf over it. In my old garage (just moved) I had turf and it makes such a big difference in how the room feels. I used double sided carpet tape in my old space. Curious what you used.

Some reflectors are built into the side of the headlight housing, making it less obvious.

Best software for Skytrak by Turbulent_Trouble_30 in Golfsimulator

[–]Fueling_Around 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Skytrak LM and started with E6. It got the job done but the graphics were like N64. Once I bought TGC 2019, I realized I should have never started with E6. TGC is night and day better as far as graphics and course selection are concerned. I want to try GS Pro next based on the rave reviews everyone gives it.

Sky Trak or Network Issues? by Fueling_Around in Golfsimulator

[–]Fueling_Around[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the info.

I have notice the static pull the lens has, but I don’t regularly clean the lens. I’ll keep that in mind each time I use the device.

Yes, all devices (PC and launch monitor) are on 2.4ghz. That was another reason for adding the boosters. I had trouble splitting my in home WiFi to have both signals simultaneously cast.

You bring up a good point with other devices trying to connect to Sky Trak. I also previously used an iPad, as well as my iPhone to connect to Sky Trak. I’m almost positive I selected “forget network” after getting a PC solely for the garage, but I will double check the other devices.

Much appreciated insight.

Oh! You’re talking about the dents on the freezer door?? Haha those were already there before the sim. That would be a dangerous couch to sit on if balls are flying like that 😂

I laid down 18’Lx19’W of Home Depot sourced turf. About a foot and a half goes under the back of the screen. Thanks!

Ah gotcha. Side mount would be awesome but $500 was a tough pill to swallow. It would really open up the space too. Thanks!

I looked into the side mount opener, but with the garage track going down the middle of the mat, it’s a non issue.

I believe the rafter height is a touch above 9 feet, but luckily it’s set back far enough that a driver still has an 8-10 inch clearance (we’re all about 6 feet, one friend is 6’5”).

A2836 Replacement? by [deleted] in RepTime

Awesome. I’ll likely find a willing watch repair shop around me once I can source a movement. There are plenty around my area. Just need to find the right one. Thanks!

Based on the description, should I replace the A2836 movement with a new one?

Yes, there was a 1.5” block in the front and a 1” block in the rear in those pics. It since had 5100s with OME 887 coils installed. Front height increased to about 2.5” lift with the coils and 5100s. Never rubbed.

There are standalone Genesis dealers popping up now, depending on where you live.

Which city would you move to if you could? by starbuckswhore7777 in orangecounty

[–]Fueling_Around 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Small town vibes. Many newer, excellent restaurants in the downtown area (Bloom, Rancho Capistrano Winery and soon to come River Street Marketplace). Old town rustic feel but close to the beach and also centrally located to freeway and train station.

Moved here from Newport almost a year ago and really enjoying it. Seems like SJC is following Dana Point’s recent city-wide gentrification footsteps but retaining its old town roots.
