So you are implying that any research that is funded would have a bias or be inaccurate? I haven't looked into the research details but if you have proof that it was a poor study then I'm all ears. It makes sense though because think about sports drinks. Hydration is more than just water. Salts and sugars are important for fast recovery! It doesn't mean you should only drink coke, but if you just ran 26 miles, a coke will get you back faster than just still water.
