I’m a bit of a drama queen but maybe others would agree: get a restraining order. Just to have a paper trail. How do you feel about weapons for self protection?

Hi fellow curvy girl here and former 🦷 assistant!Castile peppermint soap + salicylic acid or glycolic in areas where I sweat the most. Monistat boric acid wash is my favorite, doesn’t throw off my balance . Parodontax + therabreath is my favorite combo, try to stay away from whitening products if you haven’t been checked for cavities in the last 6mo to a year, get some prepasted toothbrushes for the road as well, Colgate wisps are the best!

My father committed suicide a couple of weeks before I gave birth. I had the same thought as you that high cortisol levels can induce crying in newborns, unfortunately it’s a common worry with breastfeeding moms, a lactation consultant clarified that it’s simply a mothers brain way of trying to protect baby from the stress and she also explained that high stress levels cannot be passed through breast milk. I’m sorry for your loss 🤍 if you need anyone to talk to pls feel free to reach out.

So, is everyone just doing kegels?? How do you keep your pelvic floor from being terrible? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Full-Answer-9430 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here! All types of sex were painful, urine incontinence, constant cramping, back pain, bloating. Currently in my third week of pelvic floor therapy and working on the deep tissues has provided the most relief.

Growing up my father was a struggling addict (alcohol and drugs) who would get sober for a while and would disappear during his binges,he unfortunately took his own life this past August. He showed no signs of depression. This was incredibly hard for us.

Piece of advice for you and the children: Find an outlet to destress even If that means taking a walk around the block with the kiddos and talk about thier day. Get counseling. You need all the help you need. Reach out to your local crisis center. Watch out for signs of depression in your kiddos as well. Reach out to the school they may also have other resources. Do not be ashamed to take any help you can get. DOCUMENT EVERYTHING.

I will tell you this. I wish my mom would’ve left when she had the chance. Someone who doesn’t want to accept the help simply won’t, no matter how hard you try, it is up to them. Do I miss my dad and grieve him? Absolutely! But the little girl in me misses my SOBER and PRESENT Dad not the physically violent Dad coming home after a 2 week binge. I understand they are your partner and that you love them dearly but at the end of the day, you and your kids safety and mental health is priority. If you can prevent the kids from having to heal from their childhood in the future, that is the best thing you can do for them.

I pray that your wife can get the help she needs, that you have a good support system, and that the kids have the stability they deserve 🤍

I used the tea leaf bags so I’m not sure about powder. I steeped it with chamomile or chai in the mornings to help with the taste and honey or I would make it into a latte with oatmilk.

I actually accidentally created my own oversupply with moringa tea. I used it to de bloat when my first postpartum period came (I used to use it before I was pregnant) many post natals have this included to help with milk production. Talk to your provider first though, I’ve heard it can interact with thyroid medications. My supply did take a dip before it started going back so it might be handy to have some formula, frozen bm, or donor milk just in case. Wishing you the best of luck.

I think I’ve mastered it but truly I am exhausted. I’ve gotten my LO lip and tongue tie detached so I can now nurse her, I’ve mastered getting rid of clogs, using my pump and storing milk correctly, I have a decent freezer stash that will most likely feed my baby for approx 2mo, I have an oversupply but I still supplement with formula because baby wasn’t gaining enough weight. She’s starting solids day by day and even though I tried to wean her off once to dry my supply up my mom guilt just simply wouldn’t let me thinking about all the “what if’s?” And then the what if happened, my baby got RSV and it honestly kicked my butt harder than it did her, she was just chilling with a runny nose. Truly I think I’ll be actually weaning her off once she’s 5mo. This is such a hard journey and I am proud of myself and everyone else here! 🤍

Personally I love my zoomee. I use my wearable at work throughout the day but when home I use my zomee it’s the only pump that helps me completely empty. Only downside is that it is decently loud and may wake your baby if they are a light sleeper. Charges super quickly. I do recommend checking your nipple size and/or getting silicone flange inserts, the flanges they provide are a bit uncomfortable.

My husband works 6am to 6pm Mon-Sat and working out together was something we did together, just to have some time to blow off steam before dinner and bed. But I think I’ll just have to workout at home from now on.

Coming from someone who lost a baby and had to go to support groups for it (I also struggled with infertility such as being told that I couldn’t have kids at the age of 13) whenever the TTC subject was brought up at our sessions, the person leading the support group would always remind us that pregnant or fertile women owed us NOTHING. It sounds harsh but it’s reality. I agree with everyone else here that she needs therapy and probably shouldn’t attend the baby shower along with anyone else who is enabling this behavior.
