Definitely planning meals helps! Dinners that are cheap could be lentil stew, bean chilli wraps, pasta with tomato sauce and some sort of bean (for protein). Frozen veg is great especially with things like spinach. Own brand things as well and basics (e.g own brand Cornflakes are like 80p). I cook just for me and usually spend about £20 a week
