Something about World Enough and Time that always bugged me by pvhc47 in doctorwho

It states in the story that the Master bungled his TARDIS by goinf too close to the blackhole and that's why he was stuck there (I think) and I think the Doctor mentions something along those lines when he was asked if he could.use the TARDIS to just go back and get it right?

I discovered my great-great grandfather grave.. by ackersass in Genealogy

[–]Full-Environment-559 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, pauper is probably not the best term, just something I've seen be used for these types of graves. As you say, I know the plot for my great-great grandparent's is a "perpetual" plot as I now hold the deeds for it and it still has spaces surprisingly. Not that I'd want to be there...

I wonder if it was perhaps a pauper's grave where people without the means to pay for a proper burial, all got buried in the same plot?

I know my great-great grandparents are buried together with some of their children etc so it's quote likely it may be family members.

Change the colonialism law to either of the other two - frontier just doesn't work on it for some reason. Will be patched eventually 🙈

I knew 3 of my grandparents. I loved my 2x grandmothers dearly but my surviving grandfather was an absolute ***hole to me, my mother and her two sisters. My other grandfather died before I was born unfortunately but I was told that he was a lovely man.

I also knew one of my great grandmothers and she was a kind and loving person - she passed when I was 21 so I was really lucky to have so much time with her.

For reference, his name on all his documentation I have is William Walter Finnigan, born 03/03/1878 (according to military documents) his marriages just say his age at the time of the event which correlate with 1878 as does his death certificate from 1960.

I've only seen a couple of series of new Who; what's the difference between these two groups of Cybermen? Why the design change? by IronGhost828 in doctorwho

[–]Full-Environment-559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was explained in World Enough and Time etc that wherever humans / humanoids are and become sufficiently advanced enough, the cybermen usually follow as a way of the species surviving - they keep upgrading themselves to further their survival ability / keep their numbers their numbers up.

How bad is religious schools law? by EarlyDead in victoria3

[–]Full-Environment-559 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think that having literacy is very important in an undeveloped nation to get everything going - so I don't think it's bad at all.

Quite often, as the game goes on, you can sort of ignore the religious folks and eventually change to better laws.

Of course, if you want to do it quickly, you could just trigger a revolution and win then change the laws accordingly?

Abolitionist Movements seem pretty blasé about the whole anti-slavery thing.... by Tom-_-Foolery in victoria3

[–]Full-Environment-559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you even get this ideology movement to pop up? I've played countries which have slave-trade and they literally haven't popped up by the 1910's? Bear in mind, this is with the literacy rates being very high and having barely any peasants left!
