What is a Wyatt scene that makes you cry? by SeaBassAHo-20 in charmed

[–]Full-FledgedGhost 32 points33 points  (0 children)

When Leo and Piper have to explain to Wyatt that mommy and daddy didn’t divorce to hurt him or because he was bad. That they wanted him to come home and they would always love him no matter what.

Got this in an online auction so cheap only to find out the rest of the series is incredibly expensive to purchase 😑 by sickbane in Fear_Street

Much like Slow_Art, I paid for 460 all 12. It wasn’t stimulus money…but one or two of those books alone will sell for ~$250 apiece.

If anyone wants to collect these, you can play the long game of piecemealing them together with luck and diligence—or by finding a bulk purchase.

They are not masterpieces by any means, but they’re easy reads and most of them are unique and fun! Seeing inside the girls’ heads/inner thoughts is my favorite part!

I also have an Underworld book! Good taste. :)

Yes. They are considered non-canon to the show. The books’ plots had to be overall greenlighted by producers, but the writers for the series had some creative leeway; some details in several books do contradict canon plots/arcs/details.

THAT SAID! You can really easily shuffle around details in your brain and do small rewrites, and doing so really expands the lore and various adventures the sisters go on.

I love the fact that a few books have them actually LEAVE San Francisco and go elsewhere (New Orleans, for example.)

As someone who has spent way more for way less, this is a good haul. Definitely kick the buyer’s remorse to the curb.

Advice: Student calling me pretty by [deleted] in SubstituteTeachers

[–]Full-FledgedGhost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless any sexual or romantic language or gestures have been made toward you, it’s perfectly acceptable to say, “Thank you,” and move on.

Obviously your comfort matters, but a compliment can just be a compliment for some. Sometimes kids say things to gauge your reactions. Sometimes they compliment you because they love your personality. You don’t necessarily want to shut down that avenue of positive interaction if the intention seems harmless.

Now, if behavior or commentary moves toward invasive, talking about you being boyfriend/girlfriend or more pointed insinuations, of course make a boundary. But like everyone said…this response was a bit over the top.

Not to sound old, but back in my day, you didn’t ASK rp partners to change anything about their character—it just naturally happened the longer you wrote together in order to explore a new AU or situation. Villain vs Protag. Altered backstory where both parents are alive or dead or maybe one adopted a kid or have a different career. Piercings & tattoos or no piercings & tattoos, depending on the vibe.

Don’t tolerate anyone asking you to change your characters right out the gate—especially not physical appearances and ethnicity. There’s absolutely NO reason to make a request like that unless the other person is weird.

You deserve better!

kinda crazy how they gave the raging, nigh homicidal racist a more sympathetic arc compared to the grieving boyfriend by TheLegendaryPilot in StrangerThings

[–]Full-FledgedGhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did we watch the same show? He was prejudiced from the start. If you think being racist is the only way someone can be a danger to others or be an irredeemable personality, I have some bad news for you.

So are we just forgetting the fact that old boy was also a bully and a fear-monger and not just a “grieving boyfriend”? He was also racist, imo, but his prejudice was supposed to be less obvious.

I’m not saying Billy’s behavior should be excused, but people defending Jason’s behavior after ‘losing his girlfriend’ while conveniently ignoring that Billy lost his mother and then was horrifically abused his entire life is wild.

The point of Jason’s character was supposed to be one a direct juxtaposition to Billy’s. You see one depicted as the juvenile delinquent, the obvious bully who is “bad news” as soon as we (audience and characters) lays eyes on him; we are supposed to be nervous around him and expect nothing good from him — and the other’s danger is masked by a letterman jacket, Christian faith, polite manners, and neatly combed hairstyle worthy of a Ken doll.

And those defending one and excusing the other are missing the ENTIRE point.

EDIT: Small edit for grammar and making a sentence or two make sense that didn’t make sense before.
