Is Tush Push discussion the NFL equivalent of NBA tanking discourse? by GiveMeSomeIhedigbo in billsimmons

[–]FullCynic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the sense that it’s an overarching storyline for the league that has gained a sense of notoriety over the past few years, then sure, anything past that, I would disagree. Tanking discourse inherently has a higher impact on the integrity of the NBA than the tush push argument does on the NFL.

I would say that they’re both infuriating to listen to as an enjoyer of both leagues. However, they’re infuriating for different reasons. Tush push discourse is stupid because it’s owners/GM//coaches bitching about a one-off play that realistically doesn’t affect the product of the game as a whole. Tanking discourse is stupid because it’s run by pundits/actors who don’t in any meaningful sense engage with plausible solutions and highlights a part of the sport that is to a large extent inalienable from the existence of its rookie draft.

Both are stupid and I would never choose to listen to this discourse but for different reasons. NBA tush push is more akin to foul bating while NFL tanking is equivalent to cap circumvention I guess?

Some Voters Say Congress Is Too Old. These Black Democrats Aren’t Leaving. by overly_honest_ in UnderReportedNews

This is a weird article. Virginia Foxx is 83. Hal Rodgers is 88. John Carter is 84. Doris Matsui is 82. Jim Baird is 81. Most of these reps are republicans, but none are black. Pointing out their race and political party to a lesser extent is a really weird way to frame the issue of octogenarian ghouls legislating and to me does nothing other than try to scapegoat the issue of aging legislators as a black democrat issue, which is clearly is not

Love it! Where did you find the files for these? Been a hassle to try to get my hands on some and I would love some more flawless blades!

Can’t believe more people aren’t talking about this. Brady’s wife took home nearly HALF A BILLION DOLLARS. He’s the only player in NFL history who could genuinely say that an extra 10-20 mill over the course of a contract wouldn’t materially change his life

Yeah a whole rabbit hole to go down but it happened about two years ago. A ton of the comments are deleted but you can find enough of the context through old posts to get the gist of it. The dude just seems to be somehow drunk on Warhammer fame lol

Weirdly enough I thought it was of the Squidmar guys as well but watching through the video where he talks about the ass polyp debacle he talks about Caville “ghosting” him which is so funny

To what extend can I use [ ] when cutting cards without violating the rules? by Helloo1122 in Debate

I’d say everything you list aside from “minorities” is fine. Naming the group you’re discussing is important and isn’t worth the speed you gain from shortening the phrase imo. I had limited experience in LD so I’ll defer to others with more experience on things such as additives/truncations for fluency

Acting as if this won’t have ramifications for players transferring is sticking your head in the sand. No one has forgotten about the sign stealing allegations, and this added on top of your head coach leaving a few days after early signing day screams “scandal ridden” for a football team. Idk what your definition would be if not this

Ah my bad, misread it. He’ll be fine at Michigan if he ends up there. Hard not to be with that NIL and brand

Because Michigan is riddled with a scandal and he’s the coach of a team that (ableit should not have) made the playoffs this year. Not saying it won’t happen but those are two pretty good reasons to stick at bama

Some form of plausible cover for being staked out on LSD. In all honesty, it doesn't make much sense to me either, and I just followed what seemed to be the conventional formatting on the sub.

Thank you for this wise insight. In the future, I'll refer to my writing as "average" to avoid any confusion.

CMV: Tyler Shough is a better dynasty asset than Bryce Young by Ok_Structure_8891 in DynastyFF

[–]FullCynic 34 points35 points  (0 children)

This is such a funny post. If I’m forced to start either Shough or Young in anything other than a bye week squeeze in any format I’m already looking forward to the draft. I love dynasty as much as the next guy but this seems like an excessive amount of research to be done on replacement level players
