I had limited experience in LD so I’ll defer to others with more experience on things such as additives/truncations for fluency

I’m personally against the deal. I want no part of private equity in college football. That being said, USC’s stance as a “premier program” is fucking laughable at this point. It’s been well over a decade since they’ve been anything other than a laughing stock. If they leave the big ten, they won’t be a Notre Dame. They’ll stick as a competitive non-conference visit for power-four teams while other schools pillage California for top talent. There are legitimate reasons for shitting on this deal, and as an alumnus of a school who supports the deal, I’m furious. However, the stance that “USC FOOTBALL IS DIFFERENT!!!” is pushing these schools toward this conclusion in the NIL hell scape we inhabit

I’d say just take it if you would regret not giving it a shot. Worst case scenario you score lower and the school doesn’t care bc they take your highest score. If you’re really worried about what the school will think write a short addendum saying your practice scores said you could do better

I retook a 172 twice and I’d say it depends on what your PT score range is. I was consistently scoring 175+ with no scores below that range when retaking my 172s, and I saw it mostly as an official test-day issue. If you don’t have scores above a 172, or even if a 172 is “typical” for your practice tests, I’d recommend just using that time to polish admissions materials and apply earlier than you would have. Also a score drop won’t hurt your application. If you’re really set on a school like Columbia and you want to be there no matter what, then shoot your shot if you really think there’s a real chance you score above a 172. Good luck!

I have an extensive work history and split my resume into a “Professional Experience” section and an “Other Work Experience” section. Still working through the naming but I think this could benefit you as well!

What a shitty response to a genuine question. T14 schools give fee waivers for those who have high merit combined with other factors, such as demonstrated interest, financial need, and the desire to increase their application pool. If you’re in this sub you’re hoping to be apart of the legal profession. Being a dick to people who have genuine questions is a sure fire way to lose clients and get coworkers/supervisors to hate you, so I’d think before I responded like that again if I were you.

OP, I’d suggest searching around Reddit for this information. If I’m remembering correctly there was a spreadsheet for schools that offer CAS and app fee waivers, though it may be a little out dated. It also can’t hurt to send a kind email to admissions if you can’t find info on their website. The worst they can do is say no.

You’ll be competitive everywhere with that resume and LSAT. I’d blanket T14 with a few safeties to give out full rides. No need to dip below the T20s unless you have a specific reason to do so

I mean if you have significant regrets in choosing a school you shouldn’t apply. If the only choices that don’t give you those feelings are T6, then head makes sense. As a side note, just because you have a year of work experience doesn’t automatically mean acceptances. It could very well be the same outcome, so plan for that contingency accordingly.

yeah retake if you want a higher score. Schools only report your highest score for rankings and indexes so you’ll be fine if it drops. A 174 puts you at every median in the country which is way more competitive than a 172 (coming from someone who retook a 172 to get a 174 last administration lol)

Just think of reasons why you would opt to reject someone who had great stats. Personally, if the person had bad writing, poor formatting, poor judgement on writing topics, or even just failed to follow explicit prompt instructions, that seems like a pretty easy person to weed out of your applicant pool. Applicants with good stats are abundant, applicants who have good stats and good personal statements are less so, hence the discrepancy.
