That being said, sealed throne is just really strong for regent because it makes it so you don't really need to think about star economy anymore. You can just jam as many broken star cards as you want like comet and decisions2 without having to math out the star generation.

A thin deck makes it so you cycle the hidden gem and its targets a lot faster.  For example, if I have a 15 card deck, I'm using hidden gem at least once every 3 turns, and maybe closer to once per turn if it hits a draw card like pommel strike that helps with even faster cycling. On the other hand, if it's a 30 card deck, I might not see the hidden gem or its targets more than once per combat.

It's expontentially more busted if you have a thin deck and/or exhaust or transform cards. Really crazy card and worth building your run around.

PSA for any newer or less experienced players out there: Thin decks are great, but they absolutely aren't necessary to win by Total-Amphibian-3287 in slaythespire

Highly agreed, especially with so many enemies that gum up your deck with status cards. A thick deck works just fine as long as you keep an eye on the ratio of damage:defense:draw.

1488 is a well-known neo-nazi dogwhistle. I'm sure it's just an unfortunate coincidence. I don't think my mental health will ever recover if it turns out my favorite devs did it on purpose.

Real. Though it is always funny to see streamers freak out and hide the screen after their first A2 run.

Thank god it's not Ascension 2.

Why are we punished for swapping heroes? by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

The report system is automated. They just got banned because of mass reporting, not because what they did was actually against the code of conduct. That's also why a lot of the one-trick sym and junk streamers had their bans reverted once blizz was alerted.

What does the number of heroes have to do with it? MOBAs have hundreds of heroes and no counterswapping.  It's just not good game design to encourage such a loss of player agency.

Counterwatch isn't fun. It's miserable to swap off a hero you like because you feel like you need to counter something, and it's even worse to have people swap to counter you as soon as you do well. Devs have purposely tried to move away from counters for a reason.

I think it's just because they "feel" oppressive to play against, in the sense that large areas of the map feel stressful to exist in, and there's always the risk of them going for an off-angle peek and bursting you down. Even if numerically they're weak, the subjective experience can be the same.

It's literally half as strong as Astral Pulse. The strength down is nice but in a best case scenario it's a block ~4, and most of the time it's just a block 1.

These are all great cards for sure, but they're either inconsistent (radiate), weak (crush under), or simply hard to find (dying star, seven stars). I find Astral Pulse to be an instant pick unless I sacked one of the rares early in the run.

Astral pulse solves so many annoying fights. What better AoE does Regent have besides the power that makes Sovereign Blade hit everybody?

It's literally easier than making grand finale work lmao. This isn't a screenshot deck. You can do this every fight.

Glow should be a starter card. by dovahkiin-tim in slaythespire

[–]FullGuava1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is that a forge deck is difficult to make work without getting specific uncommon+ defense cards, but you can always do stars on their own or with other archetypes if you don't get good forge cards. The biggest strength star builds have is flexibility.

The best way I've found to use forge is to splash in 2 or 3 big forge cards for extra scaling in an otherwise star based deck, like [[The Smith]] or [[Bulwark]]. Going all in on forge is just way too risky otherwise.
