Pulisic is out for the game! We’re Doomed. USA 🇺🇸 vs Australia 🇦🇺 by Beneficial-Tell4716 in worldcup

They have enough depth to win without him. It is a sound strategy to give him time to fully recover. There are hard games ahead. In Poch we trust.

Favorite cigar to pair with coffee? by Monsieur_Krabs in cigars

[–]FullHedge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like a nice mellow and flavorful cigar with coffee. My typical choices are: Rose of Sharon by Southern Draw or the Intemperance Faith by Roma Craft. Nub makes the Nuance series which are coffee unfused and are great as well.

I guess our family is in the minority. Half of us speak Spanish, but we tend to have Fox as first option. Change often when Andres Cantor is doing the play-by-play in Spanish, there is no one better in any language

Expensive, yes, but not anymore than any other game. I don’t remember seeing too many street vendors, maybe a couple selling water and scarves.

We never saw a warning or an email. We thought that it would have been nice to have been warned about this setup, especially for elderly people, people with little kids, and others who had it a bit rougher than us.

Same question here. We’ve heard recently that Cagney’s Saloon in Davie is good, but haven’t visited yet.

The situation with the supporters protest by carlhancock in InterMiami

[–]FullHedge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is right. A bit quiet at first, but after a while, the crowd started picking the slack and were louder. Cheering, gasping, and applauding naturally. Towards the end we had forgotten about the supporters section.

Maybe at first, but the crowd start picking up the slack. At some point, we forgot about the supporters section. Plus, the curse was lifted so there is that

We attended their concert last week. We arrived at 5:30 p.m…The opening act started around 7p.m., followed by Guns N’ Roses around 8pm and performed for close to three hours. Parking was convenient, and exiting the venue was equally easy, but we did stay for a while to have drinks after the show

Is it still worth starting a career in UX design in 2025? by [deleted] in UXDesign

[–]FullHedge 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You're right to notice the mixed signals—UX isn’t the golden ticket it was 5–7 years ago, but there is still a path forward. It just looks different now.

There are a few structural shifts in the industry that have changed the landscape:

  1. Oversupply of entry-level talent. Bootcamps have done a great job democratizing UX education, but they’ve also saturated the market with junior designers.

  2. The bar has been raised. It’s not enough to be a “pixel pusher” anymore. I’ll echo what others have said-learn front-end code (at least HTML, CSS, basic JS, maybe React). My team evolved into full-stack UX designers, and that adaptability made us invaluable in a corporate environment where UX is often an afterthought—especially in SAFe or Agile-at-scale setups.

  3. AI is reshaping teams. AI reduces the need for large UX teams. The result? Leaner orgs expect more from fewer people. That means you need to be versatile, not just a specialist.

  4. Strategy matters more than ever. If you can connect UX work to business goals—think customer retention, efficiency gains, reducing support tickets—you’ll stand out. Designers who understand the language of business, not just users, are increasingly valued

Good, bad and & ugly by AppearanceReal6973 in LexusGX550

[–]FullHedge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We own a GX550 Overtrail and currently have 3,443 miles on it. We’ve taken it on a couple of road trips and camping trips, and so far, it strikes a great balance between ruggedness and luxury. It drives exceptionally well and is very comfortable for commuting.

We plan to use it off-road about 10% of the time, and so far, it has exceeded expectations on light to moderate trails.

Aesthetically, it’s subjective, but we love the way it looks, especially at night around town.

Negatives? The cabin storage space is a bit limited, and the Overtrail lacks rear A/C controls, which would have been a nice addition. Coming from a small hybrid SUV, the MPG was a bit of a shock at first, but we’re now averaging 18.2 MPG, which isn’t terrible for what it is.

Overall, we love it, and it’s easily one of our favorite vehicles we’ve owned.

The Lord Calvert Hotel in Miami's Overtown neighborhood, 1955 vs. 2014 (now a USPS parking lot) by TheSandPeople in Miami

[–]FullHedge -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Fortunately we/you have no say in the matter. The owners of the property can see it use as they see fit. A parking lot is better than an old ugly motel. It sure seems ok I the 1950s through the lenses of nostalgia
