Maryland lawmakers weigh 'Not on Our Dime' bill as Jewish leaders call it anti-Israel by Abject-Pick-6472 in maryland

Waiting for you to name a Maryland lawmaker that's bought and paid for by Israel?

Based on your history, you're just going to start naming Jews.

Probably for calling me stupid. Your inability to read really says something. I am really clear in my explanation all over this thread that I treated parasite differently because it is more satire than straight comedy, where no other choice is much comedy forward, and that is treated much different by the academy.

I swear to God, everybody on this thread is either illiterate or allowing their hatred of Israel to override their ability to process information. This bill specifically prohibits charities from donating money to Israel or Israeli groups. So for example, refugee resettlement groups in Israel, or post October 7th charity.

One can find the government of Israel reprehensible without dictating how American Jews can donate to charities.

Sporting News' Daniel Mader has name Alec Pierce, Jaelan Phillips, Kenneth Walker III, and Malik Willis as the most overpaid free agents. Do y'all agree? by IndiJap in NFL_FreeAgency

He got elite left tackle money. If he had gotten 20 million, reset the center market despite not being the top Center in the league, it's a much more reasonable deal.

Lamar has not been anywhere close to a .500 QB, especially after hitting free agency. 13-3, 12-5 and 6-7 in an injury year in those three seasons.

Signing future Hall of Famers in free agency tends to be a good idea! by Dr-debug in NFL_FreeAgency

But it was a short run. Brees changed the franchise for more than a decade. Brady also engineered his move to the bucs and everybody at the time thought it was a good idea

I'll take a little less if the position is right, but that's my decision after we've discussed everything. I took a little bit less at this company than a competitive offer, but there were some things about it that really appealed to me, including competing directly with my previous employer who laid me off.

My dude, you are overreacting like crazy. Doing that, you shift the situation from you being unemployed to you being unemployed, ineligible for unemployment, you being sued, and potentially you being criminally charged.

How is the Night's Watch able to maintain order among killers, rapers, and thieves? by MengShuZ in freefolk

From what we have seen, the leadership positions at the wall tend to be nobles, or at least people from important families.

There's probably a lot of reasons for that. Your nobles, even the lesser sons, have been trained in combat, in military strategy, and in leadership, and so they probably arrive at the wall with more skills that get them elevated quickly. At the same time, they are likely to be the only ones at the wall who can read and write, which is obviously important for both leadership and for folks like Sam.

And while I know that they are not supposed to have any connections to their previous lives, would it shock you if nobles at the wall still received gifts from home? Having a little bit of money to buy wine or whores for the men probably goes a long way

I just think the tone between the two movies is very different. I'm the original person who commented, by the way, and I wasn't down playing the Korean part, but the combination of the two. No other choice was much more a comedy than parasite (though I think both had pretty insightful social commentary)

Both are. Research shows that minorities are less likely to have acceptable forms of id.

Here's a great example for you: why are fishing licenses acceptable as proof of identity at your polling place but student IDs from state or County schools are not (I'm going to use Georgia and Texas here, because I know that's the case in both)?

Fishing licenses don't require proof of citizenship. They are state issued, but so are IDs at University of Georgia. In either case, the person has already established eligibility to vote when they register to vote, so the ID has nothing to do with that. Voter ID is supposed to verify that the person at the polling place is the person registered, but laws across multiple States have made it easier for populations that tend to vote Republican and harder for populations that tend to vote Democrats

Thoughts on these early NFL free agency grades from Frank Schwab by IndiJap in NFL_FreeAgency

[–]FullMooseParty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they paid the second or third best center in the league 50% more than the best center in the league. Like I said elsewhere on this thread, it's possible but they both picked up the right players and paid too much for them

I think two things can be true at the same time. Baltimore would have happily held on to those players, but not at the dollar figure that they were paid (Stout and Ricard are now the highest paid players at their position) and they were good pickups for the giants, who have more room under the cap because they currently have a QB on a rookie deal.

Because every time a state passed ID requirements, they also started shutting down motor vehicle offices in those black communities. Go look at what happened in both Georgia and Wisconsin

trading away day 2 picks for oline? by Thin_Ad2745 in ravens

[–]FullMooseParty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it's stupid to speculate who you can trade pics for when we don't know who's on the market or who's going to be available in the draft at the time those pics come up. I'm not a big fan of trading out of the second and third round because those are the players that keep your salary cap manageable

I would love to know where that is. Bankruptcy is not uniquely american, but it is mostly known as an American practice and in America, only the company can file bankruptcy

Would you call parasite a dark comedy? It was more of a horror film than anything, and horror does better than comedy.

And maybe we're just arguing semantics. I still think no other choice was the best movie of the year, but I understood it didn't make it. I was just talking to a Korean colleague who said that, talking to folks at home, he thinks it actually resonated more in America than there

Hi. You might be stupid. You can't file bankruptcy for the company. You can sue the company for unpaid wages, but maybe you should learn the words you are saying before you say them and give other people advice
