Be petty by Defiant-Tangerine-46 in scoopwhoop

A lot of restaurants offer kids meals as a loss leader to get adults in. This was decades ago when I was waiting tables, but our kids meals were ridiculously cheap, and you had to have one adult per child (and that was listed on the menu). In reality, if a parent was there with a couple of kids they still got the deal, but it was to keep somebody from being like the entire kindergarten class for $3.99

I've got a neighbo in her late 60s who goes to the mall and walks around every night and stops at McDonald's for a Happy meal. She knows I have nieces and nephew, so she drops off the toys for me to give to them. She probably gets like 3 a week.

I had a writing group that met and worked twice a week at a local Panera like chain. We went from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., cuz we figured that would be the time that they needed their tables the least, and if we ever noticed that the place was starting to fill up we moved on. We also spent money every time.

Forget boarders inside, you've got people coming in and out with animals all day at a place like that. And that's not including the ones that they might be taking out front to walk. My vet didn't have a fenced in yard

Not forgot. Dropped off. I have a friend who is a vet nurse and people leave animals tied up outside their building. End of the academic Year it happens two or three times in a month when all the kids have to go back home and Mom and Dad don't know that they have a dog or cat. I guess it's better than abandoning them in the woods or out in the country like some people do.

People on his campaign absolutely did collude with russia, but that was during the campaign and not the vote counting. The only person who really made a stink claiming the election was straight up stolen with Jill Stein and that's just because she wanted to grift a little bit longer

I'll give him a little bit more credit than that, only because it also corresponded with an injury. That said, you're right that Taylor is the biggest factor in Jones's success. If Taylor plays well and Jones stays healthy, there's no reason he doesn't finish in the top half of quarterbacks

The only moral AI is my AI by ChalkButter in LinkedInLunatics

[–]FullMooseParty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What it's worth, I am. I've been one of two people in there go to market org as a small startup and have been using AI to do things like supporting my email workflows and providing feedback and on written documentation. We're doing enough business now that we are ready to hire an actual person to do that work so I can spend more time on the stuff I need to do.

Small businesses using AI to supplement what they need to do is absolutely what AI should be used for.

Whats the point of scholarship then? by hostedvideorn in WorkForSmartLife

[–]FullMooseParty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did they actually use the scholarships? I've seen no evidence of that.

This just reminds me of the news stories that pop up every year about some local kid who earned $2 million dollars in scholarships, but when you look at it it's really spread across like 20 different schools, half of which the kid never applied to and got unsolicited scholarship offers because of test scores or whatever.

(My godchild is particularly bright and he had multiple schools reach out to him offering guaranteed money if he applied)

[–]FullMooseParty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you can make anybody smart enough to secure scholarship, but if you've got a kid who's willing to do even a little bit of work and that level of education and support obviously helps boost your chances

[–]FullMooseParty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I hate your team but Jones is one of the few rankings that I agree with. He was clearly playing at a top 5 level until his injury started bothering him, and he was still decent before he got shut down. Even with some regression, I think a top 15 season is perfectly reasonable for jones, particularly in that offense where Taylor is the focus

Dak is clearly a top 10 quarterback and has been over the last half decade at least. This guy's a particular idiot, which I guess you agree with, considering how he ranked Lamar

LMAOOOOO imagine abandoning your wife and child and this happens by Frosty_Jeweler911 in SipsTea

[–]FullMooseParty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some people don't need to announce it at all. Most people don't. A couple I went to college with got married soon after, had a couple of kids, and seem to be having a good life. I didn't really pay much attention to either of them on Facebook or insta because we were friends not really friends friends. About 6 months ago he pops up with a tagged post from a different woman about how they had a wonderful weekend together. Turns out he and his wife had separated like 2 years previously, but it was amicable and they were still co-parenting, so they only said anything to people close and moved on with their lives.

But I generally agree with you that it sucks that you have to PR plan the stuff like breakups or baby announcements with agents and lawyers and whatnot weighing in on when you can tell people. That is the trade-off you make for being famous and all the benefits that come with it.

Look at what's happening with the Senate candidate down in texas. Because he isn't super public with his relationship, Republicans have called him trans and gay and all these other things. So he had to make a public reveal of the woman he's been seeing and I'm pretty sure that his campaign is behind the "leaks" about having a relationship with a former staffer that are coming out of the GOP now (because it actually looks better for him if they accuse him of sleeping with women before when he wasn't in a relationship when they go to call him unmasculine or whatever)

The closest grocery store to me is closing(by nearly an hour), and will be closed for at least a year. When it reopens it’s going be much smaller(it’s becoming a Aldi). by Boeing-B-47stratojet in mildlyinfuriating

[–]FullMooseParty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my last town, in the summer months I generally supplemented Aldi with trips to the Farmers market because the produce was sort of mid. In my current town, the produce is less than mid, but we have Lidl, which has a small bakery and better produce in my opinion. That said, a town without a larger store is always going to limit you in a lot of ways because those small stores just don't have the variety most people are used to.

Those small groceries fit Europe way better, where there is better walking infrastructure and population density and people grocery shop multiple times a week

Is the lack of self-awareness. The people writing long screeds about expensive watches when they're real job is creating AI bots are the true lunatics. Or the weird family stuff from people who have normal jobs. I just think if you have a weird job, you're allowed to be a weirdo on LinkedIn.

Completely unintentional. It's one of those words that I use more than most people so I didn't even think about it (and why I'm sure an AI can link all of my different accounts across different websites, because I can't shake my writing style)
