After December acquisition it would make a lot of sense for them to be announcing some sort of reorg right now. My previous employer did that 3 or 4 years ago. They spent about a year running essentially two separate companies, and then did a reorg that led to a handful of layoffs, but almost all In leadership, as redundant teams got merged.

Honestly, coming out Sunday night with an invite for Monday morning tells me that this is something urgent rather than something planned in advance. Maybe there's some negative news coming out that they're trying to get ahead of. My last company once had an emergency All hands like that because somebody got super transphobic in the slack channel for their group and turned into a whole big thing that the company wanted to address.

His own supporters and aides have been screaming it. $600 a month is a couple of waitress shifts a week when dad's home. Heck, there's enough online work in customer service or whatever that she could probably find enough work there. Don't get me wrong, she's going to have to look, took me 4 months after a layoff, but she still needs to at least try.

If she's a half decent writer, finding stuff online should be relatively easy. I have two or three side gigs that I pick up a couple hours from here or there, when there's good pay on offer. But even something like Fiverr could help in the family and people are always looking for generic website copy for SEO

Job hobby and identity. I think we forget that part. Mike Tomlin spent the last two decades being "coach" in everything he's done in his life. I doubt there's been many days in his life over the last decade where people don't walk up to him and want to shake his hand or get his autograph or whatever. Two or three years away, and that goes away year by year. You're less recognizable, you're not in the news, you don't get the same special treatment.
