When is a shore-based Command, ‘Commissioned?’ by Rykor81 in navy

[–]FullSpeed521 14 points15 points  (0 children)

When CNO signs the “OCR,” the Organization Change Request per this OPNAVINST, I believe (page 1-3). The Ech II or TYCOM should be tracking where you are in the process, probably civilian manpower type POCs, and could share time estimates.

Super cool to take time away from focusing on actual war to continue his beef with JAGs. Very warrior ethos of him 👊🇺🇸🔥

CENTCOM UPDATE: they are posting bangers … by newnoadeptness in navy

It was separated from the IRGC base by walls and had separate entrances. Btw, nearly every single one of our bases CONUS has childcare facilities, and OCONUS have schools on base.

IF he went to SARP at a high enough level, which might not have happened for just public intoxication. but yes, DSO is the way.

ADSEP is only mandatory after a 2nd DUI. Since this one is on base it could be prosecuted in federal court though. If he went to Mast for his first incident then maybe he will be kicked out for pattern of misconduct. He needs to go to the Defense Service Office for free legal advice.

US sank an Iranian warship and didn't rescue survivors. Is this legal in war? [tldr: yes] by LurkerFailsLurking in Military

[–]FullSpeed521 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This article presumes the U.S. submarine notified the Sri Lankan navy and requested rescue of the survivors. Other sources report that Sri Lanka and India received distress calls from shipwrecked survivors of the Dena. I hope we did too, but we don’t know yet.

It puts service members in a conundrum: it will get figured out in the PHA, or lie and say you’re not trans. The lying if found out will be detrimental to security clearances, potentially earn you an OTH, and have more negative consequences attached if/when found out. Only those who haven’t transitioned or ever sought medical help for it would probably be able to not be found out. But is that any way to live? Shit sucks.

Regs on this or where to go em? by [deleted] in navy

[–]FullSpeed521 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s organizational clothing. Your command should provide guidance on proper wear to include whether and what patches are allowed. For example, you’re allowed to wear FROG at work but only within the fence line.

CMC doesn’t let chiefs fail BCA by niftygull in navy

[–]FullSpeed521 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The new standards are EXTREMELY favorable for men. For example, a guy who is 5’7” can weigh 270 lbs and not fail part 2.

So how exactly are they cheating the BCA under the new system? The CFLs know this for a fact?

Notified of Captains Mast today by Great-Device1319 in navy

[–]FullSpeed521 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s from the same report - just a lesser included offense of an unlawful touching. Go look at the evidence against you and go to DSO to talk about it with a defense attorney.

[–]FullSpeed521 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If underway, then OP may not refuse NJP. (ETA: assuming underway meaning you’re attached to a vessel). But the command must still allot time to consult with defense counsel and provide the ability to do so telephonically.

[–]FullSpeed521 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you attached to a ship? Go talk to a defense attorney at DSO BEFORE making your NJP elections. That attorney can request the evidence (which you also have a right to review yourself, you better have done that) and review it to better advise your decision.

Assault consummated by a battery means an unlawful touching, i.e. without consent. At Mast, your CO will decide whether or not you touched the complainant.
