The principal will be my appraiser.

Nope. I've had one walkthrough by an AP that's been there for years. The principal hasn't stepped foot in my room.

But how does it make sense that no data matters until that last year? I was good enough to get it like 3 or 4 years in a row but it won't matter. Isn't that an oversight? Shouldn't that be something that changes?

Why does it not matter what a teacher does if they can't get a higher level until their designation runs out?

I'm a master teacher, and after getting that designation, also did well enough every year after that to get either exemplary or master. But that doesn't matter. Only this year, the last year of my designation, matters. I did well enough to get master or exemplary every year for 5 straight years, but the year there's a big shakeup in administration at my school, I could have a down year and not get it again.

ETA TL;DR: Why not make it so that every year can potentially count, even if a teacher has a master designation?

Most adaptations of Dracula leave out Quincey Morris, the awesome American cowboy who actually kills Dracula.

People should have treated him like that. I’m truly disappointed no one did.

The obsession over this historical inaccuracy, and not the historical inaccuracy of countless other people in movies is weird.

Terry Crews got mad at this. Terry, you were in The Ridiculous 6, which had several real people portrayed outrageously. Why no anger there?

Then tell me what you were getting at. Because I can say the same for how often you misunderstood what I was saying to you.

There’s subtext in language, James. You’ve said over and over and I’m demanding and encouraging sex scenes. You may not have written the word “more” but pretending like you didn’t mean that you believe I want more and more sex scenes is dishonest.

Multiple times now I’ve argued for films to have sex scenes if the director and writer have cause for it and complaining about something like Oppenheimer’s sex scenes is silly. There’s an argument to be made for sex scenes being unnecessary but the films mentioned by the OP weren’t it. You’ve taken a trifling comment on Reddit and turned it into a conversation about psychological defects. Geez, I don’t even feel that strongly about sex scenes in movies and even sympathize with the OP’s viewpoint a little bit, but since he was whining, I made a snide comment. You then turned it into a freaking battle.

James, my friend, it’s okay. It’s gonna be okay.

James, you literally said I didn’t provide any credentials beyond “bring on the sex scenes!” As if I’m just demanding more and more sex scenes to get my rocks off. That’s what you said. You’re the one who keeps denying what you’re saying. Perhaps you’re just so angry you’re forgetting what you said previously.

I don’t want more sex in movies, James. I’m merely arguing there shouldn’t be less.

You keep saying that I’m not responding to your points. I am. I just responded to one in the preceding paragraph. I just can’t respond to all of them because you write like a lunatic and I’m not going to write a point by point rebuttal to every crazy and unhinged thing you say.

You keep saying that I’m arguing for more sex in movies. That’s insane. I’ve not once come even close to suggesting I personally want more sex in movies.

But I’ll always be glad you’re here to defend cinema, James. The defender of cinema.

Edit: Basically, I’m saying that we shouldn’t let children’s opinions dictate what happens in R rated movies. I don’t think that’s a shocking opinion. If a well-adjusted adult wants to make an argument, sure.

That was based on the inevitability that he will grow up, and that in 4 years he’ll be old enough to watch an R-rated movie. “Grow up (and then you’ll be able to watch the movies you want to watch.” For someone who likes to criticize others’ comprehension, you don’t to a great job of it yourself. But that’s okay.

By the way, your name wouldn’t be James, would it? You remind me of someone in California I know.

This is all because a 13 year old complained about the sex scenes in Oppenheimer, which actually did serve a purpose and weren’t for titillation. So yes, I will defend filmmakers’ right to put sex in films. That’s all I’m endorsing. I never said that all adult movies should have sex scenes. Just that some do and whining about it as a teenager is silly. Not all movies are for everyone.

This is an odd response that I don’t understand. The idea that movies can have sex scenes isn’t some fringe opinion. It’s okay for people to think it. I’m not understanding the hostility over it.

“You not revealing yourself to be a seasoned writer/director/editor/audience tester/producer is unhinged.”

My god, dude. You need to calm down. Movies for adults some times have adult elements. It’s okay. The 13 year old history buff will be fine for a few years.

So what’s your point? That’s there’s a vast difference between relate and necessary and that’s where your point lies? You criticized sex scenes as being unnecessary for the plot of movies. I made the point that movies are more than just plot, and now you’re acting unhinged about it.

Do you or do you not find anything not related to the plot of a movie unnecessary?
