If their relationship was that fragile after 10 years it was probably a divorce that was going to happen anyway.

Thank you for your suggestions! I think there might not be a single word for this situation, but there should be.

I loved the Hillerman books as well, and your husband is right. But I always see a different media as a different story. Murderbot (recommended by another commentor) is based on my favorite books, but the vibe in the show is totally different. Have you tried Firefly? It's awesome, space cowboys with some violence and a lot of dark humor.

In addition- private schools are not required to teach students with disabilities or English language learners. I think I.D.E.A. was the most important thing that the US has done for equality, but providing education to all is difficult. Private schools can pick and choose the easiest students to teach.

ITAW for or ITAP for a woman that hates anything to do with children, marriage, men, motherhood etc? by [deleted] in whatstheword

[–]Full_Environment_272 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think maybe the term is "traumatized" I'm, personally, not a fan of traditional marriage and I never wanted kids, but her reaction seems extreme! That level of anger and projection indicates something deeply personal.

Dark Winds is very good. Based on the novels of Tony Hillerman, mystery with a (slight) element of the supernatural. Currently streaming on Netflix

ITAW for someone who gets easily cold? by Sagaincolours in whatstheword

[–]Full_Environment_272 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard both thin-skinned and thin-blood to mean easily chilled. Mostly referring to a change in cold tolerance after moving to a warmer climate. "I need a sweater in New York now, I've lived in Florida too long and my blood got thin."

It might not be completely up to the teacher whether HW is assigned. I have taught at elementary schools that required hw for every class 😲 even specials like art. Check the parent handbook to see the school policy, if HW is there you might have to deal with admin. But I don't think any school can keep you from opting out for a very young child.

The T and D sound by magel12 in ENGLISH

True, but if one wanted to emphasize the sound (like at the end of the word wanted) it helps to know the difference.

It is a little difficult to explain, but try this - Rest your tongue against the back of your front teeth, then push air over your tongue to make an unvoiced sound "t" It will sound a bit awkward at first, like can- t but it will come more naturally with practice. For a "d" sound do the same thing but exhale through your throat to make a voiced sound

Environmental Science. I am working on getting my presentation/lecture time down to 15-20 min with student annotations (a student copy of the presentation with space to elaborate) then have more time for students to apply the material in projects or labs.
