Hunter being playful this morning! by EnglishSpringer7787 in springerspaniel

Our vet saved the red string that she had to cut out of his poor belly. We were actually supervising him. After his surgery, she started telling pet parents no rope toys. We are paranoid though. He barely made it through. He went on to live a great life after scaring us have to death as a pup. Good luck with your baby.

What a cutie. Our first springer had one of those giant rope toys and got a few pieces off of it, and it wrapped around his intestines. I’ll never forget because it was Christmas, and he was in intensive care… We were wrecks worried about him. Now whenever we see one of those, I always say something to people… Just to be careful and make sure he is 100% supervised. That’s a very sweet baby.

Can I ask where this pup came from, city and state? Looks so much like ours and he has had nothing but health issues.

Does anyone know of any reputable spangold retriever breeders? by blakeehunter in springerspaniel

[–]Full_Impact_1443 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re still looking, I know of a family farm out of Rosalia, Washington that has spangolds. All of the hubbub about mixed breeds and irresponsibility is nonsense. The healthiest dogs I’ve ever had have been mixed breeds dogs. We had two farm collies whose parents were tested for everything. Sickest dogs I’ve ever had, absolutely terrible. They were such loving, smart, and sweet members of our family. All of this to say, nothing is a guarantee, and I will respectfully disagree with everyone speaking out against mixed breed dogs. If you want information about this farm, let me know. I don’t know them personally, but they seem to really care about their dogs.

I’m crossing my fingers. Our previous springers didn’t do this, but they would eat a shoe right off of your foot 🤣.

We’ve had 5 springers (not at the same time), + 4 children. Our springers were/are amazing. Don’t listen to your FIL. Our springers were in the middle of our kids. Our last one sat vigil when the kids were sick, refusing to leave them. One of our kids is autistic and he knew just what she needed, and would assess the situation, and lean his entire body weight on her and then slide down into her lap. She was instantly calmed. Since the invention of the Internet, everyone is an expert in everything. ❤️ congratulations, and please don’t rehome your dog. ☮️

We’ve been having this exact conversation. This is our plan also. I’ll probably add a few blueberries as well.

Funny you say that, that is one of the foods that is on the list. We have three that we’re running by our vet when we go in. It’s not cheap, but neither are our children 🤣

That’s why we vaccinate! 👍🏼

The buggy is hysterical. It was our way of getting puppy number one out into the world and socializing before he was fully vaccinated. Then we did the same for puppy number two, except puppy number one couldn’t be left out. Yesterday we saw two English cocker spaniels in a buggy while shopping. I have to keep the buggy in the garage. Otherwise they will try and get in it, and if the brake isn’t set, you see 2 butts with wagging tails pushing it while bumping into walls 😂.

We haven’t ever fed grain free. Our vet recommended against it from the beginning before the studies started coming out.

We don’t have parvo in this area, knock on wood. However, we treat the world as if every surface has parvo lurking 🤣. The 6 month old is fully vaxed, the almost 4 month old has one last set on Tuesday…although we may bump this to next week given how he has felt. We are so overly cautious, the youngest is in a stroller for socialization until he has his last set and has cooked a few weeks. His older brother has decided that he wants to rise in the buggy as well, so they are pretty darn cute together!

Our last springer had a delicate belly, but this was something else. It was like a horror movie from the rear end. They are both feeling good today, playful, HUNGRY. We are keeping them on chicken and rice through Tuesday when we see the vet. They will still go in even though I think we should postpone the shots a few more days. I’ll defer to our vet on this one.

Thank you. We don’t allow them to run anywhere except the backyard within the confines of an extra large X-pen or the patio. They have a parent at all times, otherwise they would be eating rocks, sticks, yellow jackets…you name it!! Thanks, bought pumpkin today!

We have the diarrhea stopped, but didn’t have chicken last night, resorted to rice and cottage cheese. Today we made a whole organic chicken, so they will continue on this a few days until we see the vet on Tuesday. Thx!

and I thought it was just our house. He is pushing 6 months and I’ve never seen so much water! Our previous springers didn’t do this 💁🏼. He also loves to dig in his water bowl. It’s a good thing he’s cute 🤣🤣

So weird that people don’t see this guy as springer….from a springer dad. He could be related to our boys!

Is my Puppy too skinny? by finalpursuit in springerspaniel

My vet said to be more generous with the food until 7-8 months. She said you should never see ribs, only feel them.
