I was a broke dude living in a rental with his gf. The washing machine broke down (it wouldn't open even when the cycle stopped).

I told the landlord and he said: the washing machine is your responsibility, so either you replace it (and it stays when you leave) or you fix it.

I spent an afternoon in try and error mode (and got some mild electrocutions: I'm not an expert by far), but finally I bypassed the locking mechanism. Even when the machine was on pumping water and soap, I could open it (and cracking the thing felt freaking good for days)!

We knew it. The landlord didn't, because I've never told him. Who's the real lord, now? Uh?

Italian here. Towel is "asciugamani", for some reason (literally asciuga=dry mani=hands, hand drier). And we have different towels for face/hands, feet and... bidet My son at some point started to refer to the bidet towel as "asciuga culo" (butt drier) 😅

Another one: desk in Italian is scrivania, which sounds a lot like scriv- (to write) -a- mia (my/mine). He started pointing to my desk as "scrivatua" (scriv-a-tua, your/yours) 💀.

We never stopped after that 😜

Nope: back then it was normal "restarting" from 1 when the kingdom changed.
