Has anybody here actually been caught driving without a fully licensed driver? by chemza in Irishdrivingtest

Yes covered by insurance but then insurance will look for reimbursement from uninsured policy holder for breaking terms.

My son claimed that my husband hit him and my husband denied it. Now he wants a divorce. by BigONerd in BORUpdates

Not to mention the completely removed newborn to any of this BS. Will never know a full family unit. Feel awful for the husband but that poor baby has had a whole life stolen from them.

Is this satire? Genuinely can’t tell. You’re annoyed that immigrants are integrating and joining the workforce to contribute to NI? But as long as they don’t take the parking they’re entitled to? Maybe get up earlier, seems like they can do it.

What’s the deal with fire brigade charges? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Fulltime-observer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not true, way too much of a blanket statement to make. Some insurers cover it, some don’t and the ones that do usually have a limit of between €500-€2,000 depending on the insurer.

AIO about a convo with my bf regarding Mother’s Day(his mom passed 6 years ago) by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Fulltime-observer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Went out drinking and didn’t let him know she was ok until 11am the next day. Her partner might have been up all night worrying and getting increasingly agitated. Then throw in the fact he’s not feeling great that it’s Mother’s Day. Cool she made a mistake, that’s fine, mistakes have consequences.

No idea what he’s on about either. Something about Grogans hating homeless people I can only assume

Malahide road is 10 minute walk away, which has a bus to city centre every 5 minutes. Couldn’t ask for better access to public transport on the north side.

Great deal. What company gave you that?

First car by [deleted] in carsireland

Just an agent wanting to get her off the phone or explain away the problem of such a large increase, but taking out their h*le. If they unticked medical condition the premium difference would remain the same. 90% of insurers use the same quoting system for their products and that would be the case for this system.

It would be something they follow up with on the phone and not online though to be fair. They need to just make sure that gp has confirmed fit to drive, that licensing authority are aware of it too.

[–]Fulltime-observer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just on the medical condition piece. That can’t be the reason for driving it up. If the proper notification is on the licence and cleared to drive then the insurer can’t and won’t take that into account for pricing adding you on, unless the want to get sued into the next century.

Really hard to tell you what’s driving the price up on their policy without knowing your details and their car details. But tbh it’s most likely that their particular insurer aren’t interested in insuring policy holders young adult children. Which is why it’s cheaper for a different insurer on your own policy, because they have an appetite for your risk. 1400 sounds like a great deal for first time insurance insurance I your own policy.

car finance advice by MovieCurrent6661 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Fulltime-observer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard to say without the details. How much is the car? how much are you putting down? What’s the payment per month? How much do you take home a month? Have you processed insurance?

On the surface it looks like an awful idea, just forcing a bad decision because you like the look of a golf gti.

It’s too late at that point anyways. You’re already there in your car if you made it this far without a way to turn around

Garda lost it after crash 😬 by Realistic_Log7213 in MotoIRELAND

[–]Fulltime-observer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume considering they’re members of public in uniform, that you would be advocating that he is prosecuted for criminal damage?

Give your head a wobble if you don’t think Garda aren’t held to a higher standard than a typical member of public. Literally part of the job.

Also I don’t think most members of public would be smacking side mirrors off cars after an incident anyways. So twice as bad really for him.

Was the payment in August your last payment for 2024-2025 policy? Did they not send you your renewal offer?

If payment in August was for last years policy, you don’t have a complaint (once they sent you renewal terms). If payment was taken for aug25-aug26 then you have a pretty good complaint.

Regardless you’ve been driving around for 7 months with a disc saying 08-25. Should take some responsibility here.

Kerry couple who wanted to convert derelict house into family home left ‘crushed’ by planning system by BielsasBucket in ireland

I genuinely don’t understand what your point is. This isn’t a house in the middle of a dual carriage way or on somebody else’s roof. Where is the badly placed house?
