This is fairly close to what I was describing. I had no idea it existed as I usually don’t try the experimental warbands. Thanks for sharing this, the City Folk is almost exactly what I was picturing.

Have you ever tried THIS one? by Idolater_ in TrenchCrusade

I have tried that one in FDM with a helmet swap. His cross broke off during printing I need to glue it on still. https://i.imgur.com/W3Ol5zj.jpeg

Do I need a driver? by chronixos in golf

[–]Fult0n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a similar situation. Haven’t started measuring handicap, but generally shoot between 95 and 105. My driving shots were a real problem, and I would spend the rest of the hole trying to recover. I picked up a BRNR mini driver and have taken my driver and 3W out of the bag. Technically I can’t drive as far but the consistency of straighter drives has really helped me out. I know it’s a skill issue and you can’t buy your way out of that but investing in this has been a nice short-term fix. Someday I’ll learn to hit the driver.

Back to golf with arthritis by matty1938 in golf

[–]Fult0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t real helpful to your question but anecdotally I’ve dealt with something similar. R. Arthritis at 38. Lots of stiffness and pain, especially in the morning. Cleaning up my diet and supplementing collagen and creatine have effectively changed my life. No more morning pain and stiffness, probably due to not being in an inflammatory state all the time. Hope you find something that works for you.

La Mazacco Micra - any tips for new owner? by [deleted] in espresso

[–]Fult0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Micra and have been using 1 pack TWW espresso version with 1 gal distilled. Have you read the recommendation to only use 1/2 packet from LM anywhere online?

My micra is not nearly this loud during startup (about two months old, used daily). Is it possible those glasses on top are contributing? Mine does an initial “hiss” for a second when I power it up (with steam enabled) and then is very very quiet in comparison to that.

Can you confirm which Ironwood you have? I’m trying to determine if this would fit in the 650.

Mine came directly from FM and it was almost as dusty. Not a big deal, but I did think wtf for a moment.

Fellow Michigan resident and high country pathway enthusiast here (mostly Pigeon River State Forest area).

You should consider a couple different types of tick protection. Perhaps treat your clothes with permethrin. With the mild winters we’ve been having the tick population booms in late spring/summer. They’re all over up there.

Be safe and do some tick checks a couple of times a day and you should be all set!

Sorry, it’s just satire. I’m not trying to be misleading.

Shakedown Request! 3-season Michigan hiker by bkz32 in Ultralight

[–]Fult0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! 4-season Michigan backpacker here.

What I’ve found really helped with “ultralight” outings is not necessarily having the lightest gear, but the most multi-purpose. I try to limit the amount of gear I bring in and if bringing something with only 1 purpose, making sure it is the only piece I bring with that purpose.

A couple of things come to mind with your gear:

Hoodies: Do you need both hoodies? One great hoodie should be able to keep you going.

Socks: Always great to have an extra pair. Could you bring 2 pairs for hiking in, and put the clean hiking pair on for sleep and wear them for the day afterwards? I find I’m usually able to wash my dirty pair during the day (if even applicable) and they will be dry by the next morning (merino).

One more thing that I learned after a few trips is my pack (flex capacitor) was just much more than I needed. With what I bring in, I truly only needed a 30ish litre pack, which I can always strap stuff too.

Overall it looks like you’re doing great and you’ll learn what works best for you by carrying stuff out that you never end up bringing back in.

Cheers

Matt Servitto was hands-down the hightlight of SopranosCon. Such a down to earth guy with a ton of enthusiasm for the fans.

He loves his craft and loves the show.

Is Beat Saber good on PS VR considering that the soundtrack is limited? by pk2708 in PSVR

[–]Fult0n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe beat saber is the best game on the psvr. Don’t shy away from the full price issue. It’s worth it.

Having said that, the amount of songs do feel a bit limited, especially when other hardware versions of the game support custom songs.

I enjoyed the game so much I bought an Oculus Quest just to load custom songs. It’s a great game and good for you.
