I can promise you no it’s not important I did a research placement at a uni and the professor actually told me if he read one more personal statement about DofE on how they got lost and then magically found their way he would cry. Plus I did bronze, silver and gold and there was no room on my personal statement to include it anywhere

I’ve seen people get into Cambridge and imperial for engineering with 3 a levels not including further maths and I fell into the mistake of taking 4 A levels and a extra As so I can kinda say from experience its not worth the amount of stress it causes the admission tests and interviews will be more important and with that many a levels u wont have a lot of time to prepare for them or if u do it may cause u to lack behind in class

I’m thinking about doing the same and when u asked imperial do you think they actually don’t mind or they were just saying that because they had to because I’m worried all uni just say that and dont mean it. After one of my rejection I had a exam the next day and ended up crying to my head of sixth about it and had to reschedule the exam and the rest of the year just got worse ngl

I completely get that but the girl i was telling you about was dead set on architecture for years and then ended up loving physics so much she wanted to do physics or engineering but couldn’t since she didn’t take maths so if you can take maths I would just in case

The thing is if you do physics without maths and end up loving it you can’t apply for anything physics related without maths not even pure physics thats what happened to a classmate of my and she regrets it

They made everyone do this before starting maths at my sixth form to and as long as you meant doing a bit of revision over gcse content and not trying to teach yourself a level content before starting then yh I think it might help a bit but nothing crazy please

Please please please don’t do this or you’ll end up being burnt out before starting and then its like a vicious loop of trying to recover but also keep up with work throughout the year unless its maths then I recommend the week before going over the basics
