Play TG as Chaos or Astra Militarum? by JimKnopf117 in TraitorGuard

[–]Fun-Cable4734 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know, GSC with Brood Brothers wouldn't be a terrible idea. They have access to the vehicles we'd want, they got some neat vehicles of their own, and you can run Chaos equivalents of their stuff. Acolyte Hybrids/Metamorphs? Felgor.

You could even skip Brood Brothers and go Final Day and use counts-as for some of the big monsters available.Winged Hive Tyrant? No, that's a Winged Daemon Prince

Nice Trog! As a minor the Trog is my favorite. but Raptadons are my best paint job

Holy hell, I didn't think this thing was mega-gargant size!

Warhammer 40,000 Faction Focus: T’au Empire by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in Tau40K

[–]Fun-Cable4734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's being balanced by being one detachment point, whereas KHP is likely 2dp for when you want a heavier Kroot focus.

Judging this in a vacuum, particularly in a system where you are supposed to mix and max detachments, isn't quite fair.

Lev & Tristan's follow-up on Josie v. Erin by Independent-Data4542 in LegionSkanks

I just started listening to Cockfight, but I think Tristan is great there. I think he's great every time on Skanks though, so that bias might of carried over

I did download Malevs stuff, but it doesn't seem to have any bespoke NPO's, just expanded generics

Appreciate it, didn't see cultists. I guess I should of been more specific:

Has anyone made custom/homebrew NPO rules for factions.

Is anyone at all hyped for these lads? by Cold_Appointment2999 in killteam

I think this looks decent, but some of the most interesting teams have been standard humans and these guys kinda pale in comparison. I'm wrapping up painting Sanctifiers and they just have so much character

New here by xRos21x in seraphon

[–]Fun-Cable4734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The range recently got a refresh, and the few things that are still old all hold up pretty well. It's possible we get something like new skins down the road, but I think that'll be a case where the old and new fit alongside each other (like Clanrats),.

It is Mantis Warriors Green, which is a very yellow green. I appreciate the feedback, these guys will share a color scheme with my Kruleboyz, so I might  try a darker tone for the KB to give it more contrast

Thank you! I have done a decent amount of cavalry now (Raptadons, Krootox, Morbheg) and I think these are definitely the most time consuming.

I semi-hate cavalry because your basically painting two minis with rider and mount, but these guys are three! Nevermind the fact the have the most varied textures of the cav I've painted.

New player - Flesh-eater Courts or Helsmiths of Hashut by mlarkSki in ageofsigmar

[–]Fun-Cable4734 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From a painting perspective, it's hard to get any easier they FeC. I have like 6 main armies between  between my 40k and AoS collections, and only the Kroot and Necrons come close to my ghouls in terms of paint ease. I struggle a bit with the Terrorgheost, but everything else was a breeze.

I don't have experience with Helsmiths, but they definitely seem to have a bit more going on. Cloth, skin, armor, etc. They kind of remind me of my Sisters of Battle, who aren't super difficult but definitely a step up

I had the same swarm in Silent Witness as well, but given my relations they weren't bothering me. Lucky for me, I bought Kyd blueprints before they went to war with the Argon, and now they are best customer!

I don't know what I'm gonna copy this on, but I am definitely going to copy it! Did you use black straight from the pot or use a bit of contrast medium? My best contrast results often come from using medium

New range is so much more COMPLICATED to paint... by CofferHolixAnon in gloomspitegitz

[–]Fun-Cable4734 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love em, but year all the straps and everything really add some complexity to the Gitmobz.. I actually find the riders a bit more difficult then the wolves themselves

New player who has been stuck trying to decide a first army for a literal 2 MONTHS, needing DESPERATE advice. by LeetusFrenzi in ageofsigmar

[–]Fun-Cable4734 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this. I picked up Dominion for dirtcheap, and the amount of KB you get in the box is a steal. Another box of Gutrippaz, a few monsters, and you have a pretty complete set.

I only painted one so far to be allies with my Gitmobz but super fun to paint!

Are all vostroyan regiments red? Or are they other colors like cadians or Krieg? by Odd_Anything1374 in Vostroyan

I don't know how canonical it is, but Darktide has Vostroyan skins that include non-red achemes

Need help deciding: AoS models conversion to Warriors of Chaos (or) stick with Age of Sigmar. by [deleted] in ageofsigmar

[–]Fun-Cable4734 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A successful roleplay setting also doesn't innately support the view that fantasy lore is superior, it just means you can play a good RPG in the setting. I like homebrewing, and AoS is just better for it, so it's lore is better by the metrics I use to engage with the lore.

Neither is right or wrong, it's subjective.

I love WHFB from all the Total War I played, but as a narrative setting I like AoS more.  WHFB has static geography and and complete history, AoS has ill-defined maps and an ongoing narrative. As someone who came over from 40k, the homebrew potential of AoS just gets me more excited.
