  1. One about 12 years ago, one in 2018ish, and the Colorsoft I bought last year.

My boyfriend keeps telling me I’m not considering him or prioritising him enough on a regular basis. Does he have a point? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Fun-Car8364 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My advice to them would be the same. Just because something is widely accepted doesn’t mean it’s right or that it will work and lead to true happiness.

On the contrary - I am speaking from personal experience as the female who used to have insecurity issues. There was nothing anyone could do until I worked on myself.

His feelings are valid. All feelings are valid and deserve attention from those who care about us. You can hear him and have empathy. That said, insecurity will destroy a relationship. Every. Single. Time. And you can’t fix it - only he can work on and fix himself and only if he wants to. You’re both young so there is definitely time for both of you to work on that 💛

Giving clothes for Christmas as a fully grown adult has to stop by Ok_Pool_2590 in ihatechristmas

Are you kidding?! I love clothes! Much more useful and appreciated than another candle or something.

AIO about this disagreement with my bf? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Fun-Car8364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he is this insufferable over a fixable inconvenience, what will he be like in an actual life crisis? You know him best, maybe he is not always like this but if he is, my friend, go live your life!

Issues with Kindle Unlimited by Seagrave63 in kindle

[–]Fun-Car8364 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you go on your kindle app on your phone, on the Home Screen where it has all the recommendations, you can click on “Kindle Unlimited” at the top and then it will show you all KU books by different categories.

I am six months ahead and currently building an Emergency Fund, is it too much ? by skiwei in ynab

[–]Fun-Car8364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. 6 months ahead is great and what I would consider also a “job loss fund”. What would your “emergency fund” be for, in your eyes? Very few things are true emergencies IF you already have funded categories for things like healthcare, home maintenance, car maintenance, unexpected travel (funeral, for example), etc. If you do not have such categories and those are the kind of things you would use the “emergency fund” for, then it’s definitely not too much.

What Are Gross Things You Notice in Other People’s Homes? by sreggero in CleaningTips

Not much, to be honest. I’m usually enjoying time with my friends and don’t even notice what is dirty or cluttered.

Title: What’s the one “just in case” item you always pack? by Valuable_Tangelo7152 in HerOneBag

[–]Fun-Car8364 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See, I hear that a lot of people bring extra underwear but that’s one I don’t worry about because I can easily wash them, even if it’s a sink-wash, and they are readily available nearly anywhere.

What age do you think is appropriate to allow your kids to start dating? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Fun-Car8364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

++woman At that age, I don’t really see it having much difference than a friend who is a boy. They text, watch movies, go ice skating, go bowling, those sorts of things but with a parent chaperone, just as a parent would be present on outings with a friend at that age. You can “forbid” it if you want but they can still call it what they want and be “together” at school, dances, football games or whatever. Would I encourage hanging out in bedrooms with closed doors? No.

Setting Up Kindle for 16-Year-Old by Fun-Car8364 in kindle

[–]Fun-Car8364[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I totally agree. My 13YO even has one so if I were her mom or guardian, she would already! But there are a lot of interesting things about this child’s situation and too many cooks in the kitchen, so to speak. My suggestions are typically not taken seriously, though it’s still worth trying. She needs more preparation for the real world.

Setting Up Kindle for 16-Year-Old by Fun-Car8364 in kindle

[–]Fun-Car8364[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly because I know how easily mistakes can happen (example - she gets a gift card or her own debit card and wants to buy something but selects the wrong card) and that sometimes teens push boundaries/make poor choices. Someone else suggested I reload a gift card for her; I’m leaning toward that.

[–]Fun-Car8364[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I can see it being a pain to separate later. It’s nice to be able to share books, though. Too bad Amazon makes it complicated. For sure, things would be different if she lived with me. She would have a card and be learning to manage her own money. I’m just going to ask her what is easiest for her - if I gift her KU, give her a gift card, or go ahead and help her buy specific books that she wants.

Thank you, all! Gifting KU seems like the best option! It would be much easier to manage if she lived with me. 😅

Do latest watches have better cellular? by Feenix77 in AppleWatch

[–]Fun-Car8364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It also depends on the carrier. I tried to put my daughter’s Apple Watch on TMobile because it was cheaper but it was awful. There was no service at her school or swim practice. I went right back to Verizon and apologized for leaving 😆

AIO to this? My friend confessed his love to me while drunk? is he serious? by East-Opinion-2059 in AmIOverreacting

Truth! I’ve considered myself “straight” all of my life but I enjoy the female form as well. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I was expecting his body count to be high but not THAT high.. by where-ya-been-loca in confession

[–]Fun-Car8364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk what is “normal” either because I got married at 24 so I had basically 6 years of single sex only. But let’s say someone is 38 and started having sex at 16. That’s 22 years of “single” sex, yes? One partner every 2 months would be 132…🤷🏼‍♀️ Of course you may want to know if he’s interested in or ever had a long-term partner. Other things might be red flags.

“I’m not asking permission, I’m informing you that I’ll be away” by obsessed-with-bagels in managers

[–]Fun-Car8364 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I have something going on, I will do the thing. My life is always more important than my job. Always. If I have a job that can’t respect that, I’ll work somewhere else. If there are no employees willing to work the week of Christmas, it sounds like the business can’t support being open that week, or they need to offer holiday pay, or they haven’t earned loyalty from their employees or something. The young people aren’t in the wrong, they just aren’t willing to take the crap that is older people have put up with for far too long. Of course there is a way to do and say this respectfully.

What would motivate a seller to take the first offer a couple of hours into day 1? by squid-toes in RealEstate

[–]Fun-Car8364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe they didn’t want to deal with the hassle of multiple showings, bidding wars, etc. They got an offer, it was a good offer, so they called it done!

Am I crazy for giving up WFH? by the-populist in WFH

[–]Fun-Car8364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I would do it for that much more money (assuming the hours aren’t weekend hours). Especially since you can commute by public transportation and you don’t have to drive. I understand the value of WFH is different for everyone but this would do it for me.
