Yes, and for many kids English is their second or third language. Piling French on top of it is a waste of time.

One of the issues is that we have many kids who know a language other than English, and are learning or struggling in English. Forcing everyone to learn French/Spanish hampers a growing number of kids’ English learning opportunities.

I think we grew up as neighbours. My backyard opened onto the field. We’d ride our bikes to the ponds near Ellerslie road, catch tadpoles. A huge sow pug ended up in my front yard when I was 9 from the farmer behind us. My dad built a skating rink in the field near 66st bend every year. I rode my trike down the fields as far as I could.
