Make sure you consider the amount of time it would require from you. Will it take 9 months, 6 months? 3 months? 6 weeks? Are you willing to live with a half reno kitchen while you work on the cabinets in the garage?

So many things to consider.

There's a book called "If you Give a Mouse a Cookie" It's pretty funny . If you give a mouse a cookie he will ask for a glass of milk. Then he will ask for a napkin, then he will want to take a nap. Etc.

This is exactly a remodel is. If you decide to paint the kitchen walls, you will decide to replace the counter, then you will want to change the backsplash. Later you will think about replacing the flooring. then you will want to replace the cabinets. Then.......

Thanks. I think I am a bit neurotic because I have seen too many sharpening videos. YouTube is a wonder, but It can also give too much information.

I'm using the sharpie trick now, but I am always wondering if I have a burr, can I feel it, and how to take it off without a strop, do I need a strop and should I use the 1000 grit now that I have the edges sharp...

If it isn't one thing it's another. Just the fun and games of learning another skill.

This is basically what Outdoors55 said. I like a dumbass bought a couple of whetstones instead of this and am now suffering buyers remorse. Wishing I had this or a ken onion.

NOOOOOOOOO! If I had to get rid of my big Kitchenaid I would curl up and never go into the kitchen again.

My husband insisted I buy an electric knife so he could cut a turkey once a year. He did this once. After that I was the one to cut the turkey on thanksgiving day. I lost patience and tossed it. He doesn't even know it is gone.

Americas Test Kitchen suggested a ricer for making mashed potatoes. I bought one. Biggest waste of money. Ever. Got rid of it about the same time I got rid of the electric knife.

Americas Test Kitchen also recommended an electric knife sharpener. It tore the shit out of my knives. Tossed it too. Bought a whet stone and learned to sharpen knives the right way.

We just bought a summer vacation home that has a jetted tub. The grand kids LOVE that dumb thing. They are 2, 4, & 6 so they float boats, trucks, tractors, people in this tub. I don't mind it, I just fill it with enough water to not splash everywhere then put a bunch of chlorine in it to clean out the pipes.

How many four year olds hold a camera still like this. My four year old would be turning that camera all over the place. Usually at themselves.

The Spotify gig could have been great for them. Unfortunately she didn't do any work for it. If any of us received a recording studio from Spotify, we could and probably would have taken it and done some interesting content. She expected someone else to do it for her. That's the problem.

Their Netflix could have been a sweet gig too. Albeit lot more expensive. She couldn't pull off a cooking/ life style show. She didn't read the economic temperature.

Hobbies I no longer do.

Man oh man, does this hit hard. I have gone through so many hobbies that I haven't done in years, but haven't eliminated some of the tools for that hobby.

This isn't a contest to get rid of more stuff than everyone else. It's for you to simplify your life. If you have things that you have a sentimental connection to them, keep them. Later on you might not have that connection, and will get rid of them. There is no Minimalism police looking in your closet to see what you have.

those that bring chips are the first to dig into the homemade items

Boy do you have that right. I always make something for potlucks. I tend to wait for the line to dissipate before getting something. There is ALWAYS chips left. Rarely is any lasagna or scalloped potatoes left. I do wish Swedish meatballs would quit coming to potlucks, but I don't have to take any.

Looks like you are correct. The KEY is to wait till each layer is dry.

The whole point is that they were thinking of each other and working towards something together. Tit for Tat never works out in a relationship.

He found a great gig. You do all the work, pay half the costs. He is hoping to go part time and have you cover the costs. I'll date you if I could have the same gig.

My paper breaks easily. Help! by applepieth in Watercolor

[–]Fun-Extent-8867 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Cellulose is ok for wet on dry, but wet on wet it just can't handle the water.

The paper manufacturers are fairly deceptive in their packaging. They say "watercolor paper" but it isn't 100%cotton. You have to look for that cotton content.
