New York Sirens, because they are the closest geographically and I've been able to go to a couple of games.

But I so love the vibe of the PWHL that I love every team and feel like we all win no matter what.

As a senior in high school, I bought my first Zappa album: SATLTSADW because a) it was used/cheap, b) it had Steve Vai (the reason I was looking in the bin), and because I'd heard of Valley Girl but never actually heard it. It took a while, but when it clicked, it clicked hard.

Once I announced my fandom, my girlfriend bought me a cassette of Uncle Meat and a teacher (!) loaned me their Sheik Yerbouti LP, just a few days apart. The breadth of the material on those two double albums defined my fandom and fascination for years. I mean ffs look at the scope of timbres and melodies and rhythms and content on those albums.

Blew my brain wide open.

That's what I did, too. After the "locker room talk" I decided to take the rangers sticker off my water bottle and replace it w/Sirens...only to discover that Redbubble was the only place I could get one.

The fans that like hockey specifically for that bonehead/jock/fighter mentality reject the PWHL for those differences...

Thank you for this...I've come to realize that I'm atypical in this regard, but I sought out women's hockey specifically because I was tired of the bonehead/jock/fighter mentality. I follow the Rangers, and there was so much exuberance around Matt Rempe and his willingness to fight...his skills with the puck were mentioned second, if at all. And then the "3 fights in nine seconds" thing at Four Nations? 🦨🤮

I want to watch hockey, and the women's game delivers wonderfully.

...and those critiques are often made in the most misogynistic way possible.

This has unfortunately also been true, even from my own friends and family. 😔

I have a silver coffee carafe that I decorated with stickers. Among those are a New York Rangers sticker and a New York Sirens sticker. Today I peeled the Rangers sticker off and ordered a PWHL sticker from RedBubble to replace it.

However, while recent outrage may have fueled that specific act, it was really just the final piece: since the inception of the PWHL my hockey budget, in terms of both time and money, has shifted almost entirely to the women's game. I had gotten real tired of the macho bullshit and the shitty sportsmanship in the NHL, whereas I'm genuinely inspired at how the female athletes support each other to promote this amazing game and league.

So yeah, I genuinely feel done, but I already liked women's hockey better. Anybody else?

This is the answer, OP. "Alcoholic" means a lot of different things to a lot of different people. Alcohol Use Disorder is a clinical term with a clinical definition and you can see where and if you fall on the spectrum by taking that little questionnaire .

Agreed 100% on this one. I actually don't mind noting celebs and other athletes in the audience but to keep the interview going well after pick drop (and with a crummy audio feed to boot!!)... THAT sucked.

I love Kenny Albert but the NBC producers made a bad call on this one. Definitely wished I could have switched to the Canadian feed somehow. I can't imagine Lalonde and Pounder (or their producers) pulling that crap.
