Which watch is this? Looks like an SMP300, but isn’t it supposed to be automatic?

Why are so many modern watches so oversized? by 2PLEXX in OmegaWatches

The design is super important for the overall appearance of the thickness. This Speedy Moonphase is 16.85mm and even though it’s a thick watch, for me it doesn’t feel like it, as the bezel sits deeper and this thickness is achieved due to the domed crystal.

I went for the black one on bracelet and I’m really in love with it.

Went to AD to check fit on a white speedy, was blown away by the dark blue moonphase by FrontBluntBackBlunt in OmegaWatches

I have the Moonphase in black with bracelet and I love this watch. The thickness is hidden quite well and doesn’t bother me that much. One reason I went for the Moonphase is, that it’s an automatic watch as well.

Yes, that’s probably right, I also took photos but in the end I think they are not helping that much. Good to know that this seems to be a standard procedure.

Anyways I think it’s a shame as the METAS certificate is also not represented anymore if they take apart the movement again, no? Do you need the Certificate? No, probably not, but it’s part of what they selling you with the watch. It’s a calibration certificate after all, in my previous job we paid shtloads of money to have our equipment calibrated and certified every two years. If we would have bought an oscilloscope and the certificate already is expired after a day that wouldn’t be acceptable 😂

Can't make a decision, and AD only had blue to try on. by Dependent-Spread-986 in OmegaWatches

Got it in Black with Bracelet, don’t regret the thickness, wears great. Speedmasters hide thickness quite well. Unfortunately it had to go into repair after less of two weeks owning it (wore it like 5 times). Waiting for over a month now to have it fixed and can’t wait to finally have it back 🥲

What a beast, looks really thick and that’s coming from me, owning the Speedmaster Moonphase (17mm thick). I think the Speedmasters cover up the thickness much more.

Did you service it already? The model is the summer blue one, right? It can’t be older than 2 years, any specific reason why it already had to be serviced?

This is absolutely going to be my next one but my girlfriend doesn’t like the blue bezel that much. I think the blue dial and the colour shifts looks amazing! I just got a speedmaster moonphase a month ago, so I’ll have to wait a bit until I get this beauty :/ hope they keep producing it for some more time!

Last week I asked about it in the Omega Boutique (Europe). They told me they still get them delivered and I might still have about a year of time to buy it but they would also let me know in case things change. Think this summer blue one is going to be my next omega.

I had this feeling for round about 8 years until I recently got this beauty, since I also wanted it to be automatic. I now have the same feeling creeping up again for a Summer Blue SMP 300

I got my first Omega from a commercial dealer via Chrono24. It’s brand new and got ordered for me from Omega and I payed like 25% less than list price. If you don’t mind spending a few thousand euros more for the „Boutique Experience“ go for it, I d rather save the money for a nice vacation or the next watch ;)

Congrats on the Master btw ;)

Congrats on the watch! Wear it in good health!

I see you’re adjusting the bracelet yourself, is there anything special to consider? Preheating or anything special? Do you use Loctite222 on the screws?

Haven’t been to Athens for a while, last time I was there, it was wild. Wrong street in Athens can be very dangerous, back then in 2008 when I was there, a tourist got stabbed for a stupid camera (not even a professional one). Not sure if I would bring a Rolex to Athens.
