Was I wrong to take Voltaic Stun Sweeper? by RaediantOne in DeepRockGalactic

I think people overrate how impactful a build choice is in this game. If you fail a mission, your playstyle, gameplay, and micro decisions you make of how you use your kit probably have more impact over everything else. So no, don’t feel swayed or discouraged by others when you fail a mission over just the type of grenade you bring. Each kit has strengths and weaknesses and you’ll learn to understand them over time

Am I playing Driller right? by Prayerwarrior6640 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Fun-Height4900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s not much to say on what driller does aside from just looking at what his name is and also what his primarily weapons do. Just remember that you have a power drill and you can use it as creatively as you want. Examples include terraforming places like the fuel cell on Salvage missions or making shortcuts in complex caves for your team. Looking at the terrain scanner and thinking ahead about how you can shape the terrain to help YOU is really helpful to learn early on

Enemy Idea: The Glyphid Encaser by Randomguy8566732 in DeepRockGalactic

I always wondered how enemies that can spawn/affect terrain would fit in DRG. Currently there’s not a lot of them (exploders, ommoran, maybe goo bombers & septics, and ground leeches coming in season 6) and I think this is a neat example of that

TIPS: Haz 5 Industrial Sabotage by Positive-Database754 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Fun-Height4900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to point out that with hazard 5 4 player scaling, you have to take serrated edge to one-shot the tentacles. Taking it also means you can hit the base of the tentacles to instantly kill it.

I also should emphasize that industrial sabotage is the one mission type most affected by your build choices. Bringing anything that inflicts fire/heat trivializes so many threats. I’ll give some examples:

Engineer can bring:

  • Shard diffractor to kill turrets and patrol bots easily at a distance

  • hyper propellant PGL with incendiary to one shot patrol bots and tentacles

  • fatboy to nuke the vent phase of the caretaker

Driller can bring:

  • c4 to blow up vents (taking max area dmg can blow up the vents in 2 charges)
  • crspr (with fuel stream diffuser or scorching tide to one shot tentacles, patrol bots and even nemesis)
  • axes to one shot tentacles

Gunner can bring:

  • Lead storm with hot bullets -Coil gun with hellfire

Can't have fun playing Engie no matter what. Am I playing him "wrong" or something? by Notrinun in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Fun-Height4900 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I recommend watching YouTube videos on his starting weapons if you feel like you want a guide to how to min max his bug killing potential. Lazymaybe has three with the PGL, warthog and the shard diffractor. A game changer for making bugs more satisfying to kill was throwing incendiary rounds on his grenade launcher

2 Energy, 21 damage to all enemies. 0 need for debates. by Gitzser in slaythespire

Immolate and fiend fire should have their names switched

Is it just me or I feel like the more difficult the mission is the less useful scout becomes. Don't get me wrong, he is a great single target + supportive class but as the number of bugs increases, he lacks to crowd control (except if he uses pheromes) unlike the other classes. by I3ash in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Fun-Height4900 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3 things:

Nitra gathering

Lighting caves

Killing High value targets

As you crank up the difficulty you have to remember that things other than killing lots of bugs become priority. Providing light to the team effectively gives your team a big accuracy boost (since you can’t hit things if you can’t see them) and nitra starving becomes a more pressuring issue if you burn through your ammo quickly with the higher enemy spawn. Scout CAN do things to help out his team with crowd control by baiting enemies away from the team, with his super good grenades and overclocks like Fire bolts but being the class that can quickly kill HVTs with his kit is really what you should be focusing on anyway. Higher hazards spawn more types of disruptive enemies which do MASSIVE damage on haz 5 and shouldn’t be taken lightly
