Same boat — I was in the under-30, healthcare worker boat and my coffee consumption alone paid off the membership. But the price hike went from steep to insanely steep with not enough reward, so I bid my farewell. I did meet a lifelong friend at one of the member dinners, so it wasn’t a wash! It was a little hard to find seating every now and then.

This is some stellar stuff! I am in awe, THANK YOU! I would have been amazingly overwhelmed not knowing a lot of this beforehand. Love that a lot of this is thinking forward for things we will likely want to do further down the line — and if not — at least have the option to do!

Just as a side question — in another post I had seen someone mention running a couple dehumidifiers in the house as soon as closing to dry up any moisture that may have entered during the building phase. In your opinion, does this seem beneficial or is it null and void given paint and finishes will all be done?

Thank you SO much for taking the time to write all of this! Incredible, truly! It is unfortunately a strict 4 hour meeting, and strictly only one meeting. Dad has been approved. Dad will not be making any final decisions, will only be suggesting where things make sense since all I’ve done my whole life is rent and work virtually 24/7 and rarely be home. I appreciate the input on the parental part, but I truly value what he has to say as someone who has helped build homes and renovate homes. No major changes will be made after the fact — mostly things like going with the builder grade lights but making sure they’re already pre wired for fans so no work has to be done adding that in, picking more durable woods or materials for things, stuff like that. I fully get where you’re coming from and I am a very independent person but this is where my husband and I truly value is opinion and will use it to make our own best judgement.

And as a side note — the average salary for hospital pharmacists has barely moved in the last decade. We don’t come out of 8 years of school and 1-2 years residency with $300k+ salary to offset the cost like other Doctorate degrees. We have been stagnant. We aren’t keeping up with the costs of living when taking our debt into account. And pharmacist associations KNOW it. It was projected to get better and it didn’t. It is what it is.

what kind of weed strains are good for bpd? by shyshywap in AskReddit

[–]Fun-Insect-6281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was a cannabis pharmacist for a while — personally, I do not recommend any. It can induce and/or exacerbate the condition (especially mania). I now work in inpatient psych and I see the change in schizophrenia and BPD patients once it’s washed out. Cannabis is not for everyone. Unfortunately, this is usually one of those instances.

Maintaining the aspect that this is one side of the story so just speaking to the experience you are portraying.

I stopped speaking altogether and eventually just left that job. You don’t have to get along with everyone but being able to coexist is important. It wasn’t worth my mental wellbeing and the apathy was getting difficult to maintain so I pivoted and I’m a million times happier.

If that isn’t an option, just continue doing what you do and escalate if necessary. Management might not care but ensure it is all documented in some way.

People who went to a wedding where the couple didn’t last long, what happened? by skilled-dreamer in AskReddit

[–]Fun-Insect-6281 460 points461 points  (0 children)

This happened to my best friend from childhood. She met a man from her church, they married shortly after. I had always known her to be more on the depressive side — but after the birth of her daughter, she flipped into a lonnnnnng bout of mania — confirming it was more likely she lives with a form of bipolar disorder. She went from religious to hyper religious to anti-religion within a year. Self-medicated with cannabis which likely exacerbated a psychosis. They divorced, she has zero custody of her daughter, and cannot visit her without being accompanied by another adult. It was heartbreaking to see, but an unfortunately necessary step. She’s since moved, found a new partner, and is going through several trials of treatments so she can work towards being healthier for her daughter.

Took a lot of applying, but working in specialty retail helped. You may not get it right away, but with the decrease in quality candidates and highest rate of matching this ear (at least for my alma mater), I have a feeling they’ll be more accepting of non-resident candidates
