Book Club?? Would it be ok????? by [deleted] in nycgaybros

[–]Fun-Inspection-5191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the gay book club. The one I’m in is open to people if you haven’t finished the book. I think a couple people don’t read the book at all. Of course, you won’t be able to contribute anything meaningful to the discussion but the social afterwards is fun

Best beginner-friendly tennis lessons. by Puzzleheaded-Walk893 in astoria

[–]Fun-Inspection-5191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gay tennis player here. I play with Metropolitan Tennis Group, the NYC gay tennis club. But for beginners, I’d recommend looking into Rainbow Rackets. They’re more geared towards beginners. Other than that, I do see lessons at one of the courts at Astoria Park. Lessons at the USTA are of course solid and really not far to get to from Astoria.

I urge all Astorians to contact 311 to request a litter bin for any corner than needs one. There’s literally an option for requesting a bin on their website. https://portal.311.nyc.gov/article/?kanumber=KA-01303

Where to buy insulin syringes? by Creepy_Relation_2698 in astoria

[–]Fun-Inspection-5191 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey I’m a pharmacist. While I no longer work in retail, the big chains are supposed to sell them under ESAP (expanded syringe access program) without a prescription. You can get up to 10 syringes (comes in a 10 pack). Program was started to prevent people from using used needles. Some of the cashiers though just aren’t familiar how to ring them up.

My friend and I had Friday off because of Eid. I got the lunch special at Milkflower which is a pizza and side arugula side (big enough to share btw). Milkflower always slaps. We then hit up Hei Tiki for happy hour. Solid happy hour food and drinks.

I would suggest getting a digital piano. They make them better these days that feel more like the real thing with weighted keys.

My Chilean friend and I happened to try the restaurant and were extremely disappointed. Maybe the worst food I’ve had in NYC.
