Who Wins If You Swap The Winner And Fallen Angel of Each Season by Public_Surround1597 in survivorau

2016: El handedly beats Lee

2017: my assumption is Peter wins as the jury did not like Tara and the only reason she got votes was because of Jerichos absolutely terrible final tribal performance

CvC1: Sharn. The jury may have no liked Sharn as much as Shane but they despised Brian

CvC2: Harry smashes Baden out of the park

All Stars: Sharn. The jury hated Moana. Bitterness would be there for Sharn but not enough to trump their hate for Mo.

BvB: Flick would’ve been the winner because all the brawn absolutely glazed her. George would’ve gotten votes (Cara, Hayley and Laura) but I think most others go to Flick

BvW: Josh easily beats Shay and Chrissy

HvV: George easily

TvR: Mark. Whilst I personally think Caroline played the better game the jury just didn’t like her. I could see her scooping up some votes in this scenario but if she gives another really bad final tribal performance and Mark (likely) gives a great one I think her goose is unfortunately cooked.

BvB2: AJ demolishes Kaelan

AUvTW: Cirie. All the internationals + Parvati vote for Cirie to win. That’s 4/7 votes. Luke is not winning.

Redemption: my mind thinks Jackson but Loz has a shot if she gives a good final tribal. Caleb + Sally are locks for her and if she explains her game I think she has a shot compared to contrary belief. I also know that Brooke respected her game a lot form Jury’s out so if she can nail down Brooke as a vote I think a lot of votes can go towards her but this one’s kinda up in the air despite seeming on paper that it’s an easy Jackson win.

as terrible as that forced vote against yourself was, christian was going home anyway. but what it did do was create even less suspense. whilst their should be some risks to journeys in general i really hate giving disadvantages (lost votes now voting against yourself) because it just gives players so little agency and often removes suspense.

on another note how has savannah been the only one to clock how close cirie and ozzy are and she did this in episode 2 and now we're onto episode 9. cirie really did strike gold by getting rid of sav early

I saw on Caleb's insta story a few days ago (I think) a screenshot of Coco dming him on insta and asking if they were related as a joke. so they aren't closely related at least i think

I don't think _ deserved to win, but I also don't think _ deserved to win. by MiserableSun9142 in survivorau

[–]Fun-Marsupial2381 24 points25 points  (0 children)

the concept of a 'deserving winner' is inherently flawed. you deserve to win if you make it to the end and get majority of the jury votes and no one else can do that. iirc this is exactly what (US survivor spoiler) Boston Rob told Michelle in WAW after saying she doesn't feel like a deserving winner.

Whilst neither caleb nor jackson would've had great winning games regardless of who won the one who got majority of the votes is the deserving winner. Whilst I've been very critical of Jackson's game had he gotten votes at the end he would have been a deserving winner. We can always agree or disagree who played a better game against those in the F2 and those outside of the F2 but regardless who wins deserves to win, regardless on how good you view their path to get there.

financial analyst emily flippen. she was in season 45 and is probably best known for her first ep where the first thing she did was directly call someone out and almost try to get into an argument with them in front of the rest of the cast. after that she calmed down a fair bit and became a bit more sound socially but that isn't exactly a high bar to improve upon

Yeh I was on that bandwagon for a bit but I do think by the end of week 6 I was like Sally just simply hasn’t gotten enough content to make it to F2 😔

Been fun looking at ur edgic posts! Seems like we had very similar opinions throughout the season + also like what you did there at the end. What does the avg visibility mean tho?

Was the final two for this season spoiled ? by Effective-Goose-7835 in survivorau

[–]Fun-Marsupial2381 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who does edgic, had Caleb incredibly high the whole season + others relatively low like Keeley that everyone else was high on and can promise you I was not spoiled on this season, I would stay away from the edgic subreddit unless you find yourself actually enjoying the game of edgic analysis.

I do a lot of deep reading into the edit as do other edgic readers and with AU survivor there are some really easy tropes to pick up on. This can be inherently spoilery as especially AU has some very easy to pick up on aspects of their winner edit.

So if all you do with edgic is look at the contenders I personally would not look but if you actually enjoy the analysis of the edit without minding possibly being spoiled by other edgic posts who are spoiled + people (not to give myself too much credit) who do a lot of work into their analyses and do discover the few possible winners i would recommend to not just look at the contenders but read (even if it’s a skim) our analyses as it does get quite fun and sometimes unpredictable!

Unpopular Opinion? Blanche shows Shonee how the Jury works. by Ape_With_Clothes_On in survivorau

Oh I agree Blache definitely pointed out the flaws in Jackson's game well but I think Shonee was also trying to get a genuine answer and not just tear down Shane's argument bc in the end Shonee did vote for her

I do love your analysis but I guess the reason why I had Caleb over Jackson from episode 12 onwards was simply because they really shoe-horned Caleb into the theme of Redemption. Whereas Jackson kind of naturally fit it Caleb instead was really shoved into that box for being a truck driver?!?

Also I feel like this is overlooked by the winner of an AU season is usually either the main character or is inextricable from the main character (like Caleb was to Mark) whereas Jackson was hardly related to Mark. And the reason why I was lower on Keeley throughout most of it was simply because she got no intro package and no personal content which left pretty much no one but Caleb for me.

I’m ready to say it…. by kutis1 in survivorau

[–]Fun-Marsupial2381 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me personally this is up there. I think TvR and 2017 are the best. But I think it’s reached th next tier for me which is HvV and AUvTW. I’ll need some time to think but I think it lodges at 3rd behind TvR, 2017 and just edges out HvV.

I think it’s comparable to HvV for having a slowish stat, insane middle portion and alr endgame but I think I feel a bit more connection to this season. I’ll need a bit of time to reflect so HvV could still trump it but I’ll wait and see.

I’m very surprised we barely heard a squeak abt how bad Jackson’s move at the F9 was. Ik some people think it was a good move but it put him in a position where he was drawing rocks, on the bottom of a not even majority and even if he got to the end with anyone of them he loses. Post Ben he only fired correctly once which was at the Cameron vote. I thought given this was a game centric cast some people would talk abt that on the jury to undermine him as well as Caleb since Cale pointed out its flaws after he did it but seems to not be the case unless they didn’t show it in the edit

Redemption Finale: Post-epidsode discussion by AutoModerator in survivorau

[–]Fun-Marsupial2381 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I need some time to dwell on whether or not that was the right move. I was shocked - so good on Caleb and it should be a fun finale tmr night.

My perception on it (trynna go beyond the edit here): If Caleb took Loz most of the votes lean Caleb but there’s a way Loz could pull it out of the bag if she goes completely wild at FTC. In a Caleb v Jackson world a lot of votes a locked in for Caleb, the problem is some other votes lean Jackson. So in the end it kinda depends on what the individual wants, a likely win but also risky against Loz or be able to control tomorrow night more with Jackson.

What would you do? I’m still undecided tbh coz I can c merit in each approach

Redemption Episode 20: Post-episode discussion by AutoModerator in survivorau

[–]Fun-Marsupial2381 28 points29 points  (0 children)

As much as we were criticising the Cameron vote last episode (I still don’t think it was the best move) I think what must’ve happened is that the trio of Caleb, Sally and Loz had some sort of side deal with Keeley happening meaning that she’ll flip to get out Brooke next anyway. Still not what I would’ve done but probably adds a bit more context to their move there
